MP problem

hi when i bought RTW i noticed that it didn't asked for CD Key and that it didn't brought one with it but i didn't cared because i could play the game without it but when i saw a video of an MP battle i tried to play in MP but it asked for the CD key so i let it go and kept playing SP and than later mod's but recently i've heard so many good thing's about the MP that now i really want to play it,i've searched and only found advice's to go to the shop where i bought it but i've buyed the game in both 2005 and 2006(the first one got scratched )and i seriously don't know what to do so here i am to ask for advice's .

No. I woud say return it, but since you bought it four or five years ago I would say you are out of luck. You could always purchase another copy if you really wanted to try out multiplayer, but I personally think it is not worth another $20 to play.

lol it wouldn't cost 20$ since when i bought it(about half a year after the game was out)it costed 10$ but i guess your right,and i really don't think i could find the game so easy since it's almost 7 years old ,but could someone tell me if it has something to do with me being far away from where the game was made and intially released?i bought the game at a GameStop store.

there's something about online without the need of cd keys or so.

I'd btw say for me it would be worth even 20$ if you enjoy playing that era and you would like to go online
since there's nothing better than RTW for that.

Oh and no campaign in multiplayer - there were some tries for hotseat campaigns but human vs human faction
had to be auto-resolved - so no point in that if you were eager to fight the battles out.

im fairly certain "gameranger" will let you play online with others who have lost CD keys, but i've only even heard of recently, so you should ask someone who knows more about it. (although the players there are not that good, so i hear)

lol i don't mind with the players being bad surely they can't be worst than the AI and i am no pro myself either.

Well Gameranger is one of two options for people who have lost their CD key. it depends on your motivation. if you want to play rtw casually n stuff then id go with game ranger as the people there are pretty.. how do i say it politely.... underdeveloped concerning rtw. This is not because they are bad people but because they have been cut off from the general population of MP and did not have the same opportunities to learn about the game as people there do.

If you wanted to go on the official MP and play competitively i can help you with that. Also here are a few things you should read trough before you get into it:
