Hotseat Questions
Hi, I just downloaded this mod 2 days ago, and I must say I am really enjoying it. A friend of mine, who has preiously played 1.4.1, and me, are planning on playing a hotseat game, on one computer.
So with that in mind I have a few questions.
Is there any way/mod or whatever, that can enable 2 people, to play in a battle simultanously on the same computer? Were gonna be allies (Rohan and Gondor), and want to know if this is possible. Or, if not at the same time, is there some way, of enabling the two armies, (your own and the reinforcing ally), to be controlled by the same player? That way we could hit the pause button and kind of play at the same time.
If not on one computer, is it possible to lan on a campaign, ie. play the same campaign on 2 computers, (Without having to e-mail save games)? So that in that way, we could both conrol our armies in the same battle?
If all the above is not possible, will a humans allied human controlled army helping in a battle show up and assist? In other words if my friend attacks an army, and my army is close by, will my army show up and assist his army, and vice versa?
Any info on this would be much appreciated
.

Re: Hotseat Questions
I'm afraid none of the above is possible. During your turn, the army of your ally would be treated like an AI ally in every respect. They can come to the same battlefield, but you will only have this very limited method of control (aggressive/ defensive stance, go there...).

Re: Hotseat Questions
I think this should work. You have to search for the captions and exchange the lines below: so in that case search for [hotseat] and [misc] and substitute everything until the next line in "[]".

Re: Hotseat Questions
What do you mean by this? Should I remove all the text under Hotseat and replace it with the above or what? As said Im stupid when it comes to these sort of things. Btw just adding the above to the bottom of the file didnt work. The game wouldnt even launch, saying it ran into a fatal error. So I removed it again, and the games fine.

Re: Hotseat Questions
Yes, search to the part under the line [hotseat] and replace everything below up to the end of the file (I just wrote that you should stop at the next caption with these brackets because I thought that part was somewhere in the middle of the file but I looked it up and at least in my file there is nothing after it.). You can make a safety copy of the file first if you are afraid of causing further crashes.
