I have only been playing Third Age for a while, but I noticed in my campaign as Gondor that Steward Denethor was 70 years old. Now, the events in the books happen around 3010 TA, and the campaign starts in 2980. So Denethor would die before the siege of Minas Tirith if events advanced as they did in the book.
On top of this, Denethor's biography trait specifically says that he came to the Stewardship after Ecthelion's death in 2984, four years after the beginning of the campaign. Denethor himself was only about 30 or 40 at the time, and he appears so old in the movies and books because of the degenerative effects of the Palantir and the (understandable) stress of ruling Gondor and seeing it crumble before his eyes.
Im thinking this must have been a mistake of some kind....
