[Solved]Crash at campaign loading screen

I just went to load my current campaign and it crashes at the loading screen into the campaign with the message "Medieval 2: Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit". I can play custom games but not campaign. Anyone know what's wrong?

For starters, delete the medieval2.preferences.cfg, then try it.

You didn't update to a new patch by chance? Did you unpack any games files to mod?

Hadn't changed any files or anything, but the night before I had alt tabbed out to do some other things and forgot to go back to it until this morning and it had an error when I alt tabbed back in, and that's when the problems started

Have you closed the game down and rebooted the computer since then?

Restarted my computer and it worked Sorry about that haha
