Strange Plague

Been having plague in my fortress for about 35+ turns.. my population went from 17.8k to 2.1k and the plague keeps constantly reappearing.. anyone else have this issue?

It might be an enemy spy carrying out a bit of chemical warfare. Just a theory.

Or it could be one of your own generals, units, or agents.

If i was a medieval king, before attacking a castle, i'd just send an disguised spy with diarrhea to poop in their water and then siege the city. They'd surrender soon =D

no need for a spy, simply send a suicidal peasent, and let him poop in their water reserve, then when he's caught:

1.Siege
2.Wait 2-3 days
3.Enjoy your new castle (no casualties!! and as an added bonus an army of prisioners or slaves!!)

Also, you have a hypothesis, not a theory.

Are you retraining the units every turn? I did that once when the plague had gone but the spy in the city (my spy) still had it, and the whole town became diseased again. Now I don't touch the city until I stop getting plague notifications.

I don't think the AI is smart enough to keep infecting your city like that. Even if it's the AI doing it, it must be just luck.

The Milanese ( or Genoese ) do. Once in Milan i was ignored for 10 min by a guy in a music store . After that i always burn Milan and massacre its citizens when i capture it in M2TW
