    Default Russian line infantry

Why do they march like militia?
Only half the regiment has its riles up in the air... looks bad for line infantry.
    How can I change this?
Is it on purpose, were Russian line infantry less trained in marching and such?
    thanks for any replies.

Yes, the Russian's were poorly trained during the 18th and 19th centuries, I think this is depcited by the DMUC team by their lax marching skills and greater numbers. It is true that many battles were indeed won by sheer man power, but the muskets were quite un-accurate and the only, but very sucessful area the russian army covered was melee/hand to hand combat! Taking it first hand from an eminent russian general, Suvorov, he made the infantry fire a few shots, before charging the enemy .

Not being a modder, I'm not exactly sure how to change this, but if you want historical accuracy, this is the best way to go . Hope this helped!

"poorly trained"? That depends on who you compare them too. Wasn't too much difference between Austrians and Russians, for example. Hell, even the Swedes weren't much better than the Russians in the late part of 18th century.

Russian line infantry marches like regular infantry imo. I only use the Poltava style infantry because I like the uniforms more... But the Russian line walks " normal" .This is one of the changes made in darthmod in regard of vanilla Empire Total War. In Vanilla they were behaving like militia...

You can modify the units behavior (and all other stats). You can change the quality of the units in DBeditor. Just change the unit quality of the unit in the file unit_stats_land tables. Change the quality in " trained'

program files, steam, steamapps, common, Empire Total War.

Do you use DM or DMUC?

    for DM its the darthmod.pack
    for DMUC its the DMUC_Core.pack

However I would advise against changing anything right now, since the new versions of DarthMod will be here shortly.

There was another thread somewhere around where someone asked how to save changes etc, I'll have a dig around

Edit, Kenniston5's post in this thread may be of some help, but I can't find anything more specific. This is the table you have to go into though I fairly sure of that.

yes I I know where the file is...but the thing is I changed the value I wanted and I saved the new file over the old one in the same folder and then I tried to play and it had an error. So I was wondering what to do to make the file work with the game should I save it somewhere else?

Hmm, its a long time since I edited the db files so I doubt I'm going to be any more help...
If you don't get an answer here you could try in the ETW mod workshop.
