    Default Legions long-shielded animations..

Hi, I played vanilla RomeTW and vanilla MTW2 I notice the soldier of RomeTW are much pretty when the they carrying shields, they carry it vertically even the shield is long that isn't a matter, but in mtw is different, that if you make a new units with long shield they will not be an excellent animation of these soldier using
    mtw2_sowrdsmen
    or
    mtw2_macemen
    or
    mtw_spear
if there is a long vertical shield at stand it fine but at ready ora defend the whole head and helmet will be covered, so I make an investigation on an unit with long shield I made and meny animation .cas files belong to mtw2_spear and find the best way(if Iam not wrong) is to rotat the bone bone_lelbow at Y; -50 degree to make a long shield applyed perfectly with a units, anyway I sur that EB2 team and animator are notice this problem, but did the have afix, other wise they should use converted RTW animations .cas to there long shilded legionaries and other romans units.
here is som pictuer or spearman with long shield at ready position..

hmm...wouldn't "spear" perhaps be the best animation? i read in Chris McNabs "The Roman Army - The greatest war machine of the ancient world", that one of the most unique tactics the romans had was their effective "stick with the sword, don't slash them" tactic (not the same words McNabs uses), because slashing is hard to do in a pacted formation, "sticking" don't reveals as much of your body as slashing and some other reasons....
anyways, if thats true then the spearanimation would be best, also if i remeber correctly the spearmen in M2TW tends to have long shields kinda like the romans.
anways we know that alreadyded is able to make animations for his monsters in his TATW submod:

so i guess the EB team will figurer something nice out!

im sorry for my english grammar

Ahem. This is what they've said so far, amongst other little hints and footage found on Foot's youtube channel:

    Hey i have a suggestion/criticism
The slings. I have made a sling but dont consider myself to be any good at it but i am aware that there are different methods of using a sling, at least 3 or 4 european ones that i can think of. Theres the underarm and a special greek type of sling method which are not in this video. There are videos on youtube and most have a slow motion replay. The animations seem to be a bit too long with the 20 or 30 swings thing but i'm not 100% certain on that.
The archery animations are good. I noticed that the draw lengths were short. i'm not an expert in greek archery and i know that primitive knows weren't drawn to the head. Have you got different types of bows from the east? I think they were using more complicated bow designs with different materials and they had an extremely high draw length compared to the size of the bow.

But the animations are bloody good though
