Default Super tough units and Generals...

    Hi Guys

Is there anything that can be done for units that should really break or be destroyed a lot earlier ? You could say this is the same as teh Levy pikemen being too strong. I know its partly due to ability of the units and them fighting to the death but at times its a bit silly when the odds are so against them:

    Here's an example:Selecuids vs Pergamon

A Pergamon city square - 3 to 4 pergamon units inc the General.

Cavalry Charge into the Pergamon line while theyre fighting my infantry. The charge didnt make any difference to the enemy units they just kept on fighting.

This particluar General (not even a family member/governor) held off all of my units for a full 5 mins, it took one of my cavalry units to finish him off and that must have been by accident.. or are the Seleucid's just not cut out to finishing the enemy off !???

The game promptly crashed after winning the and continuing the turn. I'm going to re attempt the battle and see if it happens again.

Can it be changed or do we simply have to stick with it ?

You are aware that any defending units in the square at the centre of a settlement are utterly unbreakable, right?

Slingers, are good units. I use them.

SW good call on the slingers.. I usually have at least 2 per army, unless its against Parthia and then its usually none but this one was hastily despatched to help out the free Greeks. Rory, I wish my units would fight like that but they usually break and run when the odds are heavily stacked against them. Considering that the general wasn;t a family member or governor general, I would have thought that against those kinds of odds they should not be able to hold out for so long.

It's hard coded so that units wont break when defending a city square.
