    Default Family tree limit

I did a search but found nothing, so i would like to ask wiser ones.
Does the family tree has a limit set at number of 100 ?
Im playing clean 6.3 with fixes (no sub-mods) with Turks and found
there is a cap locking my FT at this value (100 that is).
I get info of the new son/daugter is born but he/she is not in my Family Tree.
It didn't happen once but many times. If i send one of the general on suicidal mission i got one slot for the child back.
Any idea how to raise the bar if possible ?

NOTE: I removed the ageing script to play 2TPY.

No, your generals are probably having children. They're not on the family tree, so that's where the 'problem' comes from.

I have no generals. The're all dead already. All my generals are Family Members.
I never adopted anyone in this campaign as well. I have clean version and cannot recruit generals.

Generals who are not part of the family tree can give out messages etc for having children etc.
If a princess marries him then he becomes part of the family tree. If an AI princess marries him he becomes part of the AI family tree.
So there is no way on map for a non-family general to get married without being included in the family tree.

As for the problem i have never heard of the 100 limit thing and have no idea what is happening.

Well that's not true. The AI princess could fail, but a 'seperate' family tree can also be coded, you know. I'll see if France has this.
Edit: No, unfortunately not, so it gotta be a princess that failed.

On Vanilla I would have a similar problem, I don't know if this would apply to SS though.
By Turn 100 my family tree would be absolutely huge and I'd often have 30 generals at one time, and then all of a sudden the majority of my Generals would stop having children and 30 turns later I'd have a crisis because I'd only have a few children/generals under 50.

There is no separate family tree in game.
If a princess fails to seduce a general and abandons her faction then the general(not in family tree) can't have a separate family tree or a hidden one that somehow messes up with game.

The progress of family tree is dependent upon the number of settlements owned by the faction.

It doesn't mess things up, it's just there. The Romans had several seperate trees (just three characters at start IIRC) in either 6.2 or the RR/RC compilation. There was quite a lot of confusion when the Emperorship was picked up by one of those guys. I can fetch entries from descr_strat if you want me to.

Never before heard of this limmit, so probably your generals were reproducing before they died.
What turnnumber are you in? AI? Other options?

Last non-FM general died many turns ago.

    Late campaign, Savage AI.
It is turn number 111, i have 86 regions and 81 generals.
Many generals are getting on a bit and the Black Death will strike in 30 turns.
    Then the Timurids in 1370.

My family tree fails. Only 3 of the family members including the child is under 50 years old. Why don't they get any brides?

This is weird birk Seems you have proper regions to generals ratio yet no marriage proposals ?
I have checked the file and max. age for marriage for male character is set at 60,
so you certainly should get an offer imho.
Well, looks like you have had small breeding problems at all.
Did you adopt a lot ?

Only adopted 2. The first one is dead and the second is about 50 years now lol he was 20 when he become man of the hour. I'm using him as a defender in the UK against the rebellions. No marriage proposals at all. Well i just played some few rounds now and my 56 year old prince just got married... and one of my younger generals too. Now i've to wait for babies.

    It s actually simple
    1. Open the folder descr_campaign_db wich is located in the data folder of your installment
    2. Search for the "family_tree" section and there you will find the exact line "<max_age_of_child uint="12"/>"
    3. The number "12" signifies the Province/Birth ratio.Lowering the value of that number means more babies, adoptions and merriges,i added the value 1,
this will give you full liberty to manage your family,
4.Edit,Save,always backup files and Have Fun!!

    Krat05,
I always thought the general/child/marriage ratio to territories was hard coded.
    Are you sure this works?

If so, this is a godsend... my family can grow by leaps and bounds

Also, do you know if this is save-compatible?

I'm slightly skeptical about this, since many of the values in that section of the file concern the ages of characters at certain points in time, such as when a daughter comes of age and when she'll be retired if she doesn't receive (or accept) any marriage offers. Other values include the minimum age difference between parents and their children (the vanilla value was ridiculously high, it prevented creating huge historic family trees for the game start). Can you confirm with absolute certainty that this value is the province/birth ratio?
