    Default Another flag/texture mod questions and surprise candy assaults!

    Hi.


    I'm questing towards a total re-skin of Venice in E:TW. But I have a few que-SUPRISE CANDY ASSAULT!-stions before I go about fiddling with the pack files and such.

    1: I'm basing it on Darthmod Ultimate Commander. Do I even need to fiddle with the vanilla packs? or just thrust myself unto the darthmod files.

    2: What flag files do I HAVE to change? Because when I open the flag pack in Darthmod theres about 15 in the Venice folder, and most of them are titled flag_animation0000.tga.

    3: What the heck are those files (named above), do I need to edit each one, or just one?

    5: Also I'm wondering if there are any guides on unit-reskinning and such.

    6: Where do I find the battle-map standards (the ones your men carry into battle).

    Ad1

    I haven't got Darthmod installed, but i heard that you will need to edit Darthmod packs instead of vanilla packs.

    Ad2

    Head to ui.pack, and yes most of them are flag_animation000+....tga.

    Others are main faction flag of Venice ( biggest one), hud flags, etc.

    Ad3

    You will need to open few files inside ui.pack/flags/venice to change the factions flag of Venice.

    Ad5 ( lol i think ad 4.... )

    You mean the size of ETW battle map? --> models.pack.

    Ok more questions.

    1: How do I successfully replace the files in the .pack files. Because when I tried to replace the vanilla flag with mine it went all crazy and crashed.

    2: I still don't know where to find the unit skins, there is one darthmod pack in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\empire total war\data, but there is also a whole seperate darthmod folder in there with a whole bunch of stuff in a BACKUP folder, so I'm not sure where to find them.

    3: should I just go ahead and edit the vanilla skins? get some cheeto-residue on my fingers and just slog it out?

    I'm looking to change Savoy's uniforms to be a dark grey, to fit the theme of my flag.

    Also, by battle-standards I mean the little flags your men actually carry into battle, in the battle-maps.

    Ad1, Ad3 --> Do not replace the vanilla skins! Make a mod pack instead!

    The flag need to be an *.tga image to get working.

    Don,t delete any of vanilla packs or files inside!

    Copy the table and create a new own packfile.
    Your copied table will be noticed by the game and load your changes first.
    Dont lay hand on vanilla pack

    Create a new mod pack with those textures and launch it through Mod Manager 1.5 as a normal mod.

    Before making a mod, you will need to place the textures inside proper folder to ETW data directory.

    You could make a new mod pack using Pack File Manager 1.13.
