    Icon5 changing 2H Axe animation

I am trying to change all 2H axes in Ultimate Retrofit to the "fast" animation used in most major m2tw mods such as stainless steel. I am using notepad ++ to change MTW2_Slow_2H_axe to MTW2_Fast_2h_Axe. IT doesn't work. The animation is still the same. please help!

actually it's not helpful at all. I am not using GOAT or any of those other programs. I'm not adding new animations. I have looked at that tutorial and it isn't helping me because it doesn't answer my question.

Yeah i thought you were using a new animation but MTW2_Fast_2h_Axe already exists.
So just changing the BMDB entry should do the trick but it's not helping your case.
Wait for someone like Eothese to respond he knows more about animation.

To code for animations you first need to download the unpacked animations, and place them in your mods animations folder. Having done that you just rename the vanilla folder, make your changes to decsr_skeleton.txt, and then delete the *.dat and *.idx files (4 in total). The new *.dats and *.idxs will be built when you launch your mod.

But... What you say about what you are trying to do makes no sense. From what I have seen 'slow' and 'fast' versions of animation/skeletons do not differ, and anyway - if they did differ then you would be making changes in battle_models, not descr_skeleton.

So what are you actually after? Describe it and I might be able to help.

would you explain what exactly I have to change in the descr_skeletons? I just downloaded the animations. I simply want to change all 2H axe units to use the same animation used in SS for 2h axes, which is faster and makes 2h axe units useful.

Look at the difference between SS and your stuff to work out what you need to do. You can use a program like compareit to make the comparison easier.

I have the sneaky feeling that it might actually have to do with the move_speed_mod attribute in the EDU.

I figured he meant attack animations because Vanilla's 2haxe setup needed work from my perspective.

But you could be right, Gigantus. Good point
