    Default Nobel expenses killing me.

    Hello all.

I have recently downloaded SS 6.3 after getting a new laptop, I have just started playing a campaign as the crusader states and the nobles expenses/taxes is killing me. A crusade was called against Cairo and the holy war tax kicked in, I am constantley in debt even though my treasury says I will have some gold the nobles are spending 4000 a turn and making me through tax 900g.

How do I turn this in my favour and start making money from my 5 nobles?

You must have installed BGR- it makes things a bit more REAL and thus fun. Your nobles pay crusade tax to the treasury to fund your faction leader eventually joining the Crusade. So initially the treasury makes money from the tax. However- your nobles can do lots of other things that cost money- supplies, recruiting, sacking, ransoming, etc. If you are using many mercenaries you are spending alot extra, also as CS it is possible you recruit unit using your general then move him out before end of turn- this makes the unit cost 2x as much. It requires some extra management but normally in MTW2 you are swimming in cash and everything is easy. This way you have to consider things bit more that actual kings might have had to... or at least a little bit. Milk your nobles with the crusade tax a bit but then before you tax them into rebellion send your king on Crusade. As CS Crusade makes things much easier anyway... the unfortunate thing is you need 5,000 in your treasury to join. So if you are constantly in debt... sack a town, get some ransoms, or destroy buildings to get the necessary 5,000.
