Dacia beyond the Danube

I took Dacia from Visigoths but noticed u cant get any basic town watch or even low level milites there. Is there any chance u guys can add some basic low level infantry unit romans could recruit in newly conquered territories (usually ones that never saw roman before) without heavily rellying on mercs or half naked local barbs to keep order. I would assume atleast some people in those territories would get romanized and join roman garrisons.

Hmm, I'll look into that. I am currently revising the recruitment system for IJV4.0.

Of course it does depend upon the level of building that is available when the city is taken. All low level buildings have obviously low quality peasants and militia, but get better the higher the level of building. Again you either need to build the next level of recruitment building or use your invading force wisely until you can recruit additional foreign auxiliary troops. But as I said I am in the process of revising the recruitment building tree.

I tried 2 things; leaving original nomadic barracks and upgrading it, it still didnt produce any basic infantry and second i destroyed the nomadic barracks and build up the romam one till i believe army barracks upgrade and i got the same result. Only units available are 2 cavarly, sarmatum and Iazyge archers. I thnk this problem is not isolated to dacia but to other territories romans never controlled in real life (pictish towns, ireland, germania, even petra). I had no problems with low level roman recruitment in western persian towns nor armenia.

Sorry about buggin u with these minor details but to give u good example look at Julian's 361 campaign. City of Nisibis can recruit limitei armatus while its sister city of carhae to the south cannot, only persian units available. Both towns r under roman rule
