    Default Family tree question

As you know, my descr_strat has been annoying me for some time now. I've finally managed to mod it almost the way I wanted it to be. But I've ecountered a problem. I'm trying to have spains oldest princess to be married at the start of the campaign to a general that's gonna be the father of the futere king of spain, but everytime I start the game, it sends me back to menu. Now I'm pretty sure I followed this guide to the letter: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=261912.
And there was another guide/tutorial that explains the use of tabs and spaces in the character and relative strings, but I can't find it. Anyways, can anyone see what the error in these entries are?

    character Alfonso_VI Jimenez, named character, male, leader, age 60, x 37, y 152
    traits Factionleader 1 , LoyaltyStarter 1 , NaturalMilitarySkill 2 , MilitaryInclination 1 , GoodCommander army
    unit SE Bodyguard exp 1 armour 0 weapon_lvl 0

    character Raimundo de_Borgona, named character, male, heir, age 30, x 37, y 141
    traits Factionheir 1 , LoyaltyStarter 1 , MilitaryInclination 1 , NaturalMilitarySkill 3 , GoodCommander 1
    army
    unit SE Bodyguard exp 1 armour 0 weapon_lvl 0

    character_record Constanza, female, age 38, alive, never_a_leader
    character_record Urraca, female, age 22, alive, never_a_leader
    character_record Elvira, female, age 9, alive, never_a_leader
    character_record Sancha, female, age 1, alive, never_a_leader
    character_record Alfonso_VII, male, age 1, alive, never_a_leader

relative Alfonso_VI Jimenez, Constanza, Urraca, Sancho, Elvira, Sancha, end
relative Raimundo de_Borgona, Urraca, Alfonso_VII, end

As you see, I want to have the general in red, which is married to the princess in blue, to be the next faction heir by marriage and eventually the kid in purple the be next faction heir as soon as the king dies and his father, in red, becomes king. My appologies, I haven't even asked the obvious question. Is it even possible?

Thanks for the info, mate, but I don't really want to get rid of the original king, if you know what I mean?
I tried with the tabs after every entry as Ishan suggested but still wouldn't work, unless I've to delete the maprwm in base folder. I haven't done that.

Btw, nice tutorial about the French family tree, TNZ. I was looking to do 1 myself, but the crash to menu just pissed me off and didn't bother trying it again. If you don't mind I'll use yours and try to modify it with Philip_I all 4 siblings....
    __________________________
Nope, not even with a deleted maprwm would the game launch. Could it be the character entries? I'm sorry guys, I'm really tired and have been frustrated by this since last night.

map.rwm has nothing to do with descr_strat.txt editing. The error is push back to menu right and i presume you are modding SS.
So post the SS error log and lets see where is the mistake.
    Are the new names valid?

Pretty much self explanatory so use notepad++ go the right line and fix them.

How on earth can you spot these errors!!!

Anyways thanks, Ishan. I fixed EDB and the logistical trait, but the "can't find spouse urraca" is the real problem. Since working on Spain faction characters, I've been getting the Crash to Menu problem. I'm pretty sure I followed the tutorial correctly and even used both the HRE and the Crusader States family tree as reference, but it still won't work.

Open the log file in notepad and open find box hot key Ctrl+F and type the word "error" without quotes and it will take you directly where the problems resides if any.

As for the family tree there is something clearly wrong post your descr_strat.txt.

LOL, I know about ctrl F. Use it all the time with different text files, funny that I never considered using it in the log .
Anyways, I figured the problem with my spains faction. "can't find urraca spouse", I changed the character Urraca to Urraca Jimenez, in all the corresponding entries and it worked beautifuly.

Now to another question, almost related to family tree.
At 1 point, an usurper got to be the king, but the cool looking model of the king wasn't showing, you know, the model with the crown and cape in campaign map? Just plain general model. Is this because of the royal bloodline at the start of the campaign?

One other thing, Ishan. About the "bribing rebel general with money" issue. A bribed general doesn't show in the family tree, but when he does get married to your princess, it will show. Now, what would happen if I changed "has_family_tree" from "no" to "yes" in the descr_sm_factions?

I left a visitor message for you asking about this issue a few days ago. I'm not sure if you had seen or read it.

The problem you have is a known one from RTW, if you want a female relative in the family married outside of the family you need to provide her with the last name of her father.

Ok, I'm curious, Can you creat a princess, that is not directly from the royal bloodline, like a niece of the king and put her on the strat map?

Hi Squid, I must have misunderstood you. Say, for example:
character Philip Capet, male, age 49, Leader,
    trait xxxxx
    character_record Henri Capet, male, age 80, dead 20, past_leader
    character_record Anna, female, age 50, dead 5, never_a_leader
    character_record Hugues Capet, male, age 43, dead 0, never_a_leader
    character_record Adele, female, age 38, alive, never_a_leader

relative Philip Capet, Berthrada, Louis, Constance, end
relative Henri Capet, Anna, Philip, Hugues, end
relative Hugues, Adele, Beatrice, Isabelle, Mathilde, end

Can I put the names in red on the strat_map as princess models?

Not exactly what I had in mind . Anyways, it don't matter. What really matters now is the problem that I have at the moment. I'm sorry, I just couldn't let it go.
I'm trying to add more family members for France, I know, I know. I should've cut my losses and start playing already. But I CAN'T!!!!!!!! It's an addiction and I'm hooked. Uh, modding that is...

    character_record Henry Capet, male, age 52, death 40, never_a_leader
    character_record Anna, female, age 43, death 25, never_a_leader
character_record Emma Capet, female, age 48, alive, never_a_leader
    character_record Hugh Capet, male, age 43, death 0, never_a_leader
    character_record Gaston de_Sainte_Helene, age 62, death 1, never_a_leader
    character_record Adele de_Vermandois, age 38, alive, never_a_leader
Character_record Mathilde Capet, female, age 20, alive, never_a_leader
character_record Isabelle Capet, female, age 19, alive, never_a_leader
character_record Beatrice Capet, female, age 18, alive, never_a_leader
    character_record Yves de_Sainte_Helene, age 12, alive, never_a_leader
    character_record Philippe, male, age 11, alive, never_a_leader
    character_record Cecile, female, age 3, alive, never_a_leader
    character_record Bertrada de_Montfort, female, age 42, alive, never_a_leader
    character_record Denise de_Chartres, female, age 18, alive, never_a_leader

relative Philip_I Capet, Bertrada de_Montfort, Constance, Louis_VI, Philippe, Cecile, end
relative Henry Capet, Anna, Philip_I Capet, Emma Capet, Hugh Capet, end
relative Gaston de_Sainte_Helene, Emma Capet, Xavier de_Sainte_Helene, Yves, end
relative Hugh Capet, Adele de_Vermandois, Mathilde, Isabelle, Beatrice, Ralph, end
    relative Xavier de_Sainte_Helene, Denise, end
    relative Ralph Capet, end

The errorlog says that it can't find Henry Capet and other names in names files ... yeah right

LiquidSantanero: Any female character in the descr_strat file can start the game as a princess. You can even have a married princess.
    Code:
    character	Galla_Placidia, princess, female, age 37, x 228, y 136

    character_record Constantius, male, age 49, dead 8, past_leader
    character_record Honoria_Justa_Grata, female, age 13, alive, never_a_leader
    character_record Valentinianus, male, age 10, current_leader

relative Constantius,	Galla_Placidia,	Honoria_Justa_Grata,	Valentinianus,	end

Thanks, TNZ. I wasn't sure if it was possible. Now that you mention it, I can have a married princess on the strat_map? If true, I can have her husband on the stratmap as well? Anyways, I'm getting ahead of myself, I still need to figure out what I'm doing wrong here:

    character_record Henri Capet, male, age 90, dead 40, past_leader
    character_record Anna, female, age 76, dead 25, never_a_leader
character_record Emma Capet, female, age 48, alive, never_a_leader
    character_record Hugues Capet, male, age 43, dead 0, never_a_leader
    character_record Gaston de_Sainte_Helene, age 62, death 1, never_a_leader
    character_record Adele de_Vermandois, age 38, alive, never_a_leader
    Character_record Mathilde, female, age 20, alive, never_a_leader
    character_record Isabelle, female, age 19, alive, never_a_leader
    character_record Beatrice, female, age 18, alive, never_a_leader
    character_record Yves de_Sainte_Helene, age 12, alive, never_a_leader
    character_record Philippe, male, age 11, alive, never_a_leader
    character_record Cecile, female, age 3, alive, never_a_leader
    character_record Bertrada de_Montfort, female, age 42, alive, never_a_leader
    character_record Denise de_Chartres, female, age 18, alive, never_a_leader

relative Philip_I Capet, Bertrada de_Montfort, Constance, Louis_VI, Philippe, Cecile, end
relative Henri Capet, Anna, Philip_I Capet, Emma Capet, Hugues, end
relative Gaston de_Sainte_Helene, Emma Capet, Xavier, Yves, end
relative Hugh Capet, Adele de_Vermandois, Mathilde, Isabelle, Beatrice, Ralph, end
relative Xavier de_Sainte_Helene, Denise de_Chartres, end
    relative Ralph Capet, end

Firstly whenever you are posting coded entries place your entries inside a code<--
Like TNZ has done above as this avoids any chance of error while posting the tree.
And always see the log for errors.

    @TNZ
Also TNZ i wanted to ask you if we put a family tree with a dead character as the first(Ex-king)etc then in the game it shows like Died peacefully in say 1068 etc. But can we change this entry to display like Died in battle?
I never saw any answer for it.
