    Default Help...Crash

    Hey folks,
    I have looked through the posts, but can't really find anything that makes sense to my computer illiterate self. I have a brand new pc, just got the game and installed it, I go to run the game and it doesn't get past the opening copyright screen...simply get a message that it has stopped running, and gives me the option of closing the window. I have reinstalled, deleted the creative assembly folder etc...aside from those things, I have no clue what the other suggestions mean. THanks for any help you can give.

    Have you given permission for Napoleon and Steam through your security/firewall/router?

    Have you tried disabling and/or uninstalling your sound drivers?

    Are you logged in as Administrator and have adminitrative permissions to Steam and Napoleon?

    Have you installed directs 9.0c, C++ 2005 SP1, and .Net 4?

    The first one, I don't know what you have for security software insralled or what firewall you are using or the router you have if one. You will have to go through their help files and online FAQs.

    The second one has not changed since Win 3.11 and they are listed in the Device Manager.

    When you log in, if it is the only account on the computer, odds are you are Administrator. For Steam and Napoleon, right click their icons, click properties, click seucity, and click Run as Administraror box.

    For the rest of it,
    Disable the UAC http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/1...-in-windows-7/,
    try installing directx 9.0c http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/e...displaylang=en,
    C++ http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/e...displaylang=en,
    and .Net 4 http://www.microsoft.com/net/Download.aspx.
