    I kind of like the Beatles, and I have a couple of albums on my iPod (from CDs), but I prefer the earlier 1950s style of rock and roll and rockabilly music. I guess you could say Elvis is more my thing.

    They have a few songs I like, but I get the feeling they were alot more "groundbreaking" in their heyday when they were a new band.

    "Best band" is entirely subjective. For some people, like myself, they're mildly interesting, nothing more.

    Although it is certainly not subjective that without that Beatles modern music would not be the same. They pioneered much of what modern music is, they were really the first band to make music in a truly modern style.
    A new mobile phone tower went up in a town in the USA, and the local newspaper asked a number of people what they thought of it. Some said they noticed their cellphone reception was better. Some said they noticed the tower was affecting their health.

    A local administrator was asked to comment. He nodded sagely, and said simply: "Wow. And think about how much more pronounced these effects will be once the tower is actually operational."

    Fixed that for ya. I'm not sure Penderecki has been influenced by the Beatles very much for example.
