Default I'm surprised the BAI is...passable

And I mean passable as a high complement being how bad vanilla AI works.

I had not played TATW 2.0 until last week and I was used to the suicidal AI that would just charge, stop, and sit in missile range for ages before starting again.

Now you see them stop, but the invisible hand of the modder make them charge on anyways, actually making a fight, a fight.

So kudos to the BAI maker/s, it can never be perfect with the tools CA gave you, but you made it as good as I've seen.

I've only been playing for a day so far, but I think this is really a good mod. High production values; feels high-quality.

I played 1.0 quite a bit, its not just a 'good mod' its quite frankly an amazingly good mod, the only real flaw was not its flaw but CA's weak battle AI.

Playing this with nvidias 3d vision is just frankly awesome

You need an nvidia card with some horsepower. I have 460's SLIed. You also need a 120 hz monitor, which is the part most people don't have.

Yes a 580GTX would handle it fine.

For 3D, I got a nvidia 8800GT and it works great.
Will update soon tho, as I have to lower graphics to have a decent FPS in some games. (medieval 2 is fine)
And you also need the nvidia 3D vision package. Might help. :-)
And a program: refreshlock. Very important, not mentionned by nvidia for some reasons....

The AI is better in the mod which is good but i still find the challenging battles few and far between (i play them VH)

And what's refreshlock Broke never heard of it

The AI is still as retarded as ever. I just beat around 1500-2000 orcs with 4 units of archers because they insisted on marching up a mountain for 20 minutes. I ran out of ammo, but by the time what was left of the army reached my lines, my archer militias beat the snot out of them in melee.

I often find myself just auto resolving battles just to keep the campaign challenging.

I'm finding the AI to be a challenge on Easy. The enemy is never passive, they just charge their infantry in and shoot my archers. When I move my cavalry to flank, their spearmen break out of the melee and move to screen their forces.
Thanks to the damnable garrison script, an undefended Dol Amroth was suddenly filled with Swan knights and militias. My corsair army still had a vast advantage in numbers and leadership, but the AI intercepted my flanking move and killed the corsair lord of Umbar before he had a chance to swing his sword. They retreated, regrouped, charged again, and wiped out multiple units of corsair archers before I could do anything. The only reason I won at all was because of numbers, and by the end of the battle I only had a fraction of my original force. And this has happened quite often in my fights with Gondor's "undefended" coastline.
Maybe it works differently with other factions, but when I played as Gundabad briefly the Dunedain cavalry was always quick to intercept my warg-riders and guard the flanks from my oft-used archer ambushes. Always a pyrrhic victory, always numbers alone that won the battle.

The AI will never be perfect, they'll always do seemingly illogical, demented, retarded, messed up things. Thats how the game was made and its one of the things the modders can't fully change. Best we can do is hope that the AI won't stand still for us, waiting to die.

But yeh, I made a video where 2000 Ithillien Rangers vs 250 Orcs. The Orcs charged...you can guess the results.
