    Icon7 Martial law buildings - a problem?

    Hi

I just noticed something that might be a bit crippling to the AI. Or maybe I just don't get it.

I'm playing the newest version of XGM. Playing as Saba atm. I just noticed, that a seleucid city i bought (Charax) had the first lvl. of martial law building built. I actually depended on that building to keep the city under control until it became eastern civilized again (it was 95% western when I bought it).

Since the AI never demolishes buildings it's safe to assume, that the seleucids would have had this economical burden for the rest of the game if I hadn't bought the town. I wonder how many other small cities have this building.

To avoid this i suggest either that every AI-owned settlement (including rebels) gets a shrine at the start of the game (could deduct some of the cost from the money they get maybe), or that you remove the martial law buildings completely.

The best solution would be to make it a non-AI building, but I guess that's not possible?

Every AI settlement should start with a shrine now, for that very reason. If you spot any others that don't have them let me know, and thanks for letting me know about Charax.

Found another one in Pallantia. This would be off of version 5.9.15.

Dime, if you want to ease the problem of martial law buildings make them give a small (5%) religion bonus tied to the faction.
This way if the faction has a different religion the martial law building will disappear.

It works pretty well in XC and can be used in XGM as well.

You have access to XC code in the SVN, all details and material are there and at your disposal.
