    Default Ireland gone berserk

One of the reasons to delete Ireland form SS 6.3 was, I guess, that AI Ireland was very passive and tend to stick to their island. Well, in my current campaign (Moors SS 6.2 vh/vh no submods turn 94) Ireland pushed England from Britain, and is giving France a hard time – conquered Rennes, Caen and Paris for few turns. Have any of you experienced something like this? Maybe deleting Ireland was not the best idea after all?

One in a hundred campaigns Ireland will do something. Ireland's passivity wasn't the main reason for removing it from SS. It was the fact that there are other factions that had a much bigger impact on international affairs at the time that deserve a faction slot more than Ireland.

I as have others in SS 6.2 have seen Ireland wake up from it's coma. Usually though, they land at Rennes and maybe take a few settlements in early era.

I never heard tell of them going Pope style nutszo... though.

I noticed in several campaigns before Ireland was deleted as a playable faction that they would not only give England a hard time, but usually would try and usually succeed at taking Brittany from the French, sometimes a few additional provinces as well. I'm happy they were turned into "rebels" because historically, they were jsut a local pain in the side to the English, not a player in European Medieval politics.

So Ireland is in version 6.2. I thought they removed it in version 6.1.

RR/RC removed it I think. Or some part of the compilation for 6.2 but with no additional submods added 6.2 still had Ireland.

Or you could argue they were not a player in European Medieval politics because they were always tied up with Britain. Found out my 'Irish' side are actually medieval invaders

6.3 removed it in favor of:
    • Unit slots (filled immediately )
    • One region
    • A faction slot

That extra faction slot means it's possible to implement two more factions. As I've mentioned elsewhere, I'm planning to include Sweden and Georgia.

There's two faction slots free, so both Sweden and Georgia can be implemented. Getting them implemented, especially Georgia, might take a while, though.

Is the Georgia project still alive?

It's just an idea, but couldn't Scotland and Ireland be merged together as one kingdom. You can take away units from Scotland and Ireland and use the remaining units for a Celtic Kingdom. I'm not really sure, but I think there cultures are fairly similar. The problem with that is that it is not historically accurate.

Or it can be made that while playing as Scotland, after you take over the Irish rebels, Scotland and Ireland can be unified into a single kingdom called the Celts. Like I said before, you can take away units from Scotland and Ireland and when Scotland unifies itself with Ireland they gain Irish units.

These methods could still free up unit and faction slots, and satisfy the people who enjoy playing as Ireland.

That idea has been floated before but I dont think many were in favour of it. But feel free to make a submod of your idea
