Default Problem installing Medieval II Kingdoms.

So basically I bought both Medieval II and the Kingdoms expansion in disc form because I wished to play a kingdoms mod. Anyway, Medieval II installed fine, but when I press 'install' on the Kingdom's page I get...

'All Medieval II Total War: Kingdoms products are already installed. Aborting installation.'

    What next?

I have both games on Steam but its difficult/impossible to play the mod via Steam.

The Kingdoms installer on the disc is detecting the Registry keys from your Steam installation. You'll need to uninstall the Steam version and then reinstall from the discs. Good luck!

EDIT: Ask in the Mod workshop about mods w/Steam. I know there is a way to get them to work with Steam - I just don't know it myself.

    Two things.

    1. Medieval2 dvd is now reading your Kingdoms Steam registry entries and won't install.

    2. Stainless Steel is one mod that has Steam figured out concerning Kingdoms.

If you want the best of both worlds, uninstall the Steam version via Steam, Delete it from your harddrive, run a registry cleaner, reboot, then try the dvd.
