I'm not sure if this is in the right place or not, but I had an interesting idea for maybe a future Total War game or maybe and overhaul of M2TW. World War I Total War. Like each turn in the campaign is a month or something. Playable factions could be France, German Empire, Austro-Hungarian Empire, British Empire, Russian Empire, Ottoman Empire, Serbia, Italy, Portugal, Bulgaria, Greece, the U.S, and Japan. Non playable could be, like Spain and other neutrals.
I wanna hear some opinions and maybe some people can add on to the idea

They already have that for NTW, also it would be more difficult to do some first great war things in M2 then it would be in Napoleon.
But still it is possible IF some modders are willing to do it.

I don't think a WW1 game would be fun.
Like to sacrifice 3 regiments to destroy a machine gun nest.

And be torn to bits by offscreen artillery...

you shold have a look at europa universalis 3 + mods
its a cool game, however doesn't have a fight battle option

I don't think so. CA has already been edging towards the modern period with Empire and Napoleon and honestly, they are quite boring, buggy and lack variety. In Empire, every single faction has nearly the same troops and the tech trees suck. CA should stick to the 500 BC - 1500 AD time period.
Honestly, if there was a new Total War game to come out after Shogun II, I'd like it to be Rome II or a Mongol: Total War.

Sort of like Kingdoms with 4-5 seperate campaigns.

Tribal War - Where the Mongols were warring tribes, and they had to unite.

Destruction of a Dynasty - Mongol invasion of China and the establishment of an Empire.

Rise of an Empire - Mongol Invasions of Khwarezmia, Georgia and Russia, causing Mongolia to become the largest and most powerful Empire in the world.

Invasion of Europe - Mongol Invasion of Eastern Europe, causing the destruction of Poland, Hungary and Bulgaria as European powers.

Islam's Defeat - The Mongol Invasion of the Middle East which brought Islam to the verge of destruction.

TW-games based on the World Wars would just be about battle, and very little about empire-building/management. And you would have even less unit variety then Empire

THere are plenty of periods where CA could go after shogun II (although i hope they go for Rome II ). For example, the unification of China under the Qin, the fighting greek city-states and the persian invasion,etc...

I think they should do something with fantasy - Legend Total War or something. Imagine having a bunch of Giants, Mummies, Terracotta soldiers, Snowmen or Cyclopses in your army.
Or playing campaigns with certain heroes of legend.
Or create a completely fictional world with different peoples and everything (No LOTR ripoff, but something completely unique) I mean, really letting themselves loose in the imagination!

The most modern total war they should do in my book would be Victoria Total war or Britannia Total war.

Mainly around the British Imperial century (1815 after Napoleon's defeat to 1914 start of the Great War) However since by then it may be too difficult with massive range artillery an so forth maybe end it after or just before the boer war.

Would include the British Empire, Spanish Empire, Dutch Empire, 2nd German Reich, French Republic/Empire (They kept changing), Ottoman Empire, Russian Tsardom, United States and their expansion etc

However I would prefer a rome 2 before then really

Hmm, I'd prefer Ancient World: TW (Assyria, Hittites, Babylon, Persians, Phoenicia etc.) or something different, though I don't like things in Asia that much.

What about Africa:Total War based on the european conquests of africa, you could have european factions like the British, Germans, Dutch.... and have the different native african empires like the zulu with loads of men. Any comments?

Yeah I like the Bible nations idea. Babylon, Sumer, Assyria, all the civilizations of the fertile crescent.

The entire Total War series would need a huge change, but it would be worth it. Much better with a ww1 TW than a science fiction one.
