Default AI loves to blockade ports

playing 6.3 savage AI i always end up at war with half the world just because the AI want to block my ports.

when playing as the Byzantines, the fatimids, sicily and denmark declared war just to block my ports.
danish fleets travel to the other side of the world just to block my ports!

is this a way to make the campaigns more difficult or am i just unlucky?

Well yes. You would have to modify the campaign AI file it you want to stop this to a certain degree. PM me if you need further assistance.

If you have a solution to this, I'm sure everyone would want to hear it, since it's a widespread complaint.

Well blockading ports is a very painful tatic, they're right on using it.

that's right, blockading ports severly hurts income so it's a legitimate tactic for the AI to use but it's very very tiresome to see the AI have a spare fleet and blockade you out of boredom. No human player would do it: imagine you are playing Denmark and you've got a depleted single ship somewhere. Would you decide to blockade Novgorod out of the blue, cutting your trade income by 1/3? Without ever sending an invasion army or without having any good political/strategical reason to start a war with them in the first place?
    I wouldn't

Totally agree here and would also like to know how to tone this down ! Wonder if the change would be taken in account during the actual campaign?

don't know anything about the AI code, but in my opinion the best option would be for the AI to blockade ports only when already at war, and to not initiate a war by a blockade
this will prevent pointless wars with no actual fighting and just a reduction in relations and trade income

Also the problem is that their blockades usually only last 1 single turn, making them pointless.

When the AI decides to blockade, it should do so in force and with persistence.
