Getting RTW to patch 1.5...
Hi all, hope you can help me with a problem I'm having
Here's the situation:
I pre-ordered RTW and so got the original release game. I played it, like many, but never really understood the modding scene back then, nor was I aware of new patches which you needed to download online etc. Now, I've decided to go back to RTW for a while (mainly to try out RS2
) and I'm having some trouble getting all the patches to install to the right places. I've tried to find the files in my other files and merged them with the actual game files, but I can't seem to get it up to 1.5, rather, only up to 1.3.
I'm using Windows7-64 bit, and for whatever reason I have a Program Files and a Program Files (x86). The majority of my stuff is on the x86, but there are a few programs which seem to be in the regular Program files. Anyway, I'm thinking of installing the original to the Program Files section then sending the other patches to there also. Would the patches which you do not choose the directory files then install here and actually work?
I've installed/uninstalled RTW several times now trying to get the patches to work, but so far not having much luck. Any suggestions?
Cheers, ATWP

Re: Getting RTW to patch 1.5...
I have it installed in Win 7 64 bit but with the UAC disabled.
Install RTW, install BI, install the 1.6 patch with the UAC disabled and nothing modded. It has to be a clean install.
Edit: Glad it's resolved. Enjoy playing.

Re: Getting RTW to patch 1.5...
Yes, I always disable UAC first on a machine and then think about installing software. I also install all games away from the default program files folder (c:\program files (x86)).
Anyway, as irishron has stated - enjoy the mod.
