Default Sudden graphical glitches due to volumetric effects

    Hi there.

After a few weeks pause from the game, I just tried to fire up a new campaign and noticed some severe graphical glitches. Among other problems all the agents on the campaign map were invisible. Playing with the graphics settings I've determined that the "volumetric effects" setting is the culprit. After checking it off everything is back to normal, except for the decreased eye-candy. The only thing changed about my system recently is installing new ATI drivers for my 5870 video card.

Has anyone else with an ATI card noticed this problem? And if it is due to the drivers, do you know the last driver revision that worked with volumetric effects? This reminds me of the time anti-aliasing wouldn't work when volumetric effects were checked in Empire Total War.

    Update:

I guess I can answer my own question. The glitch is in the latest 10.10d hotfix drivers, maybe the earlier hotfix drivers from last month too. Reverting to the official catalyst 10.10 fixed the issue after forcing the new settings, disabling and reenabling volumetric effects, on the campaign map. I can only hope this glitch doesn't show up in future official catalyst drivers.
