    Default No hastatii or principes?

Just finished installing RSII, and I couldn't help but notice the absence of Hastatii or Principes. What's with that? When I went into battle, I clicked a unit on my front line and they voiced "Hastatii!," but, when I clicked on them again, I hear them yell "Principe!" So, what's going on here? Also, whats the deal with the weird measurement of years?

Years are measured form the founding of Rome.

And I beleive the units are missing to show how the had essentially merged.

    Try reading the unit descriptions.

    It helps.

*Points up towards lolzillaXD!!!* Agreed. Right click on a Republican cohort and you shall find the answers you seek.

EDIT: And for the second part of your question, they had to do it to avoid a CTD. It basically is how many years have gone by since the founding of Rome. I'm not a big fan of it either but it had to be done.

    Makes sense. Thank you.
I must say that I am going to miss organizing my units so that the hastatii can warm the enemy up before pulling my hastatti back and sending in the principes....

You can still split your formation into two lines.
Your more experienced troops = principes
    Your new recruits = hastati

Except now you don't get the weird situation where experienced hastati are superior to the principes behind them.

I think it's only because you're used to that - see it as a chance to get through another learn phase
of how to organize your troops instead of going the 0815 way.

lol - sorry but i just noticed that 0815 seems to be something for german language only
at least wiki explained it to me having it's origin from a german machine gun or so.

It's a term being used in german and stands for 'ordinary' or 'usual'.

Yeah -- I miss them too, but I still divide my legions into two lines and rotate cohorts out when they get tired. It's surprisingly effective if you micromanage it enough. One could always use cheap local levy units as the front lines before sending in stronger ones.

    Use allied cohorts as hastatii?
