    Default CTD on 551 A.U.C. on Cimbri's turn

    Hello everyone, thanks for the mod it's absolutely amazing! But I'm getting a CTD when I got to the Cimbri turn on the end turn of 551 A.U.C. I understand that this might be fixed with the upcoming patch, but if there's a hotfix I could try I'd be really happy (I was really enjoying my campaign).

    Technical Information:

    OS: Windows Vista Service Pack 2
    Steam: Nope
    Install Path: C:\Games\RomaSurrectum\
    Launcher Options: Greek City States, RomeTW-ALX.exe

    I've attached the save game (the save name is Athens).

    same problem here. different turn of course but surely there must be a hotfix which can resolve this problem?

    I hope so, it's a real shame to have to abandon a fun campaign .

    Also get Cimbri turn crash on 562, I read someone saying something about deleting the forces that seem to cause the crash by watching their turn, anyone know how to do this? (select the potential offender and then delete it from the console presumably?)

    I had this same cimbri crash only at 570 AUC.

    Imm guessing this is whats happening to me. ive had no real issues until just now when i loaded my save game, pressed the end year button and boom crashed to desktop, rinse and repeat

    its 567 in my campaign and im devastated, playing the romans ive put lots of real hours in...

    what can be done?

    oh and ive already got patch 2.1a installed so i dont understand or is there another patch after that?

    there is a certain type of random crash during AI turn which can be responsible for your problmes...
    there is a workaround which not ever works but it worths a try...
    before hit end turn on the turn of the crash bring the console up and toggle_fow to make the map visible...
    do whatever you have to do and then hit end turn...50-50 that the turn will go thru..after 2-3 turns you can turn back on fow and go on playing

    same problem here with the Romans at around 600 uac. Tried multiple things, nothing helps.

    Other people have stated the same problems. Is the creator teams going to look into this and fix it?

    well i spent a couple of hours reading posts about this on here today and people have been complaining since at least November and so far nothing has been done, i have RSII patched up to 1.2a and that doesnt fix it.

    as much as i give kudos and respect to the team for making Roma surrectum 2 whats the point in even playing the mod if you labour for hours only to be screwed at a set time period.

    cant speak for anyone else but it doesnt make me impressed to waste all my time on it only to find its been a waste.

    This is why i originally gave up on the RTW game a few years ago because of bugs like this. MTW2 isnt any better either.

    sorry the workaround did not work...
    lets not forget that the amount of people with this sort of problem is nearly insignificant compared to all those who downloaded and played RSII...
    I myself had only a 2 CTDs in endless hours and different campaigns and as we play all the same game and the same version its logical to think that RTW or the mod does not go along to well under certain circumstances/hardware/configuration/OS/backgroundprocesses...whatever the reason is...
    The amounts of possibilities goes into the millions and to expect that somebody can find out what caused crash xy on machine 123 with hardware abcedf and software ghijkl and backgroundprocesses mnopqrstuvw is so far from reality like to see a fish passing by on a bike
    I had a Cimbri CTD too...toggle_fow solved the problem..but that was just me..
    AV programs love to cause CTDs especially when they start perform whatever task..check..update...
    same goes for web applications/sites/messengers/backgroundprogramms...

    When I play I switch off the Internet Adapter in Options and disable the AV...useless to say that I have nothing running which is not essential for the OS to function.

    but still there are quite a few people with the same problem, and we cant all have similar systems...
