I may consider her Far rightwing, but she's hot. And I would love to hate a hot woman. Besides her hotness, I don't think she's as stupid as she pretends to be. Truth be told, if Obama lost to the Republicans in 2012, I would prefer he lost to her. Also her apparent ignorance about anything not American may well lead to a reduced presence of USA around the world.

And I have to admit, I love how she screwed the old guy (McCain) over. I don't know if it was plan or coincidence but her not-exactly-helpful-for-Republicans campaign put a democrat on the spot to take the tough decisions (with the large political cost) that had to be taken for the good of USA (and the world) while she could just relax and stay a bit out of focus so her blunders would be forgotten/forgiven.
After all, "seeing Russia from her window = foreign policy experience" wouldn't shock as much now.

so you're basing your support of a politician based on sexual attraction? If Republicans want Obama to have a second term, they should nominate Palin. If Palin becomes president, US will be the laughing stock of the world. I mean it's Palin, the woman who said she has foreign policy experience because she can see Russia from her state or couldn't answer simple questions during some interviews. It will probably even encourage terrorist attacks on the US. And lastly her election will mark the scary cluelessness of American votes (at least the majority who vote for her).

Palin was the ONLY thing going for McCain, Palin did not screw him over in the least. Some of McCains people wanted to throw her under the bus as an excuse, but McCain was the anchor on the Republican ticket.

The only thing you said that I would consider bad (since I don't live in USA and my cousin moved out of USA already) is the fear of increased terrorist attacks in USA. Still, I think Palin would take a hard stance on terrorism so that, hopefully, won't be a problem.

Granted, the President is a very different job, and I honestly can't see her being a good President, but I really can't imagine she'd be as bad as some people like to paint a Palin Presidency.

Obama, normally a leftist by American standards, become dead center when he became President. I have no doubt Palin's far-right rhetoric will also not survive her first day of the Presidency if she is elected.

If she becomes a nominee she will shut up about things that alienate the younger people. She will make a turn to many topics or keep silent about them. Even if she is as stupid as many people think/want her to be, her campaign managers won't be.

Now what JP said is also very true, shes the highest profile right now because the election is two years away. The Republicans just had the biggest victory in congress since 1938, and the biggest ever in US history if you count state houses and governorships.
