Default Biggest Land and Naval Battle.

I just had my biggest naval battle with over 800 men against at least 1000 enemy men, 26 enemy ships sunk.( My Port. navy against Englands main fleet plus an unlucky France who got tangled up as well)
    Laterneas against Gun Holks.(sp)

Land Battles would have to be probably 3 Mongol stacks against my 2 Bzy Stacks.
(Ended up losing that one but still fun)

Its gonna be fun to see how naval battles will work in medieval 3, becouse of the lack of cannons in the early ages..

I wouldn't bet on that but if its implemented by CA it would be fun with byzantine navy as they used Greek fire in their naval battles.

    Land battle

Well! Playing as a Moor in SS6.3. I have a full stack (mostly archers) again 3 full stacks of Portugal. About 2800 of my again 6000-7000 enemy. I win because: AI quite stupid when using Javelinman and they stick together and become the huge crowd that perfect for my archers, my fire power is formidable.

    Nava battle

    Not sure!

You won just with archers? Although it's possible, I think that if the Portuguese had 3 stacks, some of their army would be cavalry... In other words, pic or it didn't happen

As for naval battles, I've had 20 Gun Holks vs approx. 30 enemy ships. I won due to the fact that most of their ships were pre-gunpowder era, so it's not a proud feat.

Ay! You can say it didn't happen since my hard drive died 3 days ago and with it all of my pictures ! Exactly my archers is not normal archer!

Large part of their army is Jinetes?? (including 2 captains) who stupidly run toward their main column and get shot down by my army before they can fire back. Most of their infantry is javelinmen who just cling together and become a huge mob for my archers. Beside that I have a high ground advance and my generals is full dread and command. Compare all of them and i have a slaughter. Of course i lost 2/3 of my army

I've had no major naval battles. Not on the sort of scale that has been previously reported.

    Land battles now... heh.

The largest field battle I fought was three full stacks of mine (Kingdom of Jerusalem) commanded by King Baldwin, Balain of Ibelin, and King Richard the Lionheart against four full or nearly-full stacks of Egyptians, one of which was commanded by Saladin himself, in Kingdoms: Crusades. King Richard fell in the last seconds of the battle, but despite his loss, it was an overwhelming victory for the KoJ. As you may imagine, though, seven full stacks of men, on Huge unit settings, takes up a LOT of space on the battlefield. The sheer chaos of trying to command a battle of that scale has prevented me from attempting it again.

I just fought the largest siege I've had - also playing as Kingdom of Jerusalem, although a different campaign. Jerusalem itself was besieged as a Jihad target. I had 18 units defending against two full Egyptian stacks and one full Turkish stack. Very hard-fought as half my army was Syrian Militia! Jerusalem remains in Christian hands, though.

Nice land battles, the names of the commanders gives it more meaning.

I occasionaly do a large costum battle with my three stacks against enemy three stacks. Some 10000 men in total. Unfortunatly it all ends up with my cavalry routing the entire enemy army after they routed my allies. Sad.

I've had no real big campaign battles though...

Biggest Land Battle was in my second campaign with the Byzantines in vanilla. During the third mongol invasion. The Battle of Mosul had a full stack Garrison and two legions (full stacks) against all but one of their horde stacks (4 or 5 I think). I won, but lost like a stack and half. ( had to auto resolve, such a large army would have comepltly crashed my old computer. )

Naval battle was with Milan I think. Full stack navy(War galleys and Laternas) vs full stack Navy (what ever is the Egyptian equaivlant of war galleys and galleys)

    Biggest land battle:

Approximately 1,300 Englishmen against 4,500 Irishmen(Britannia Expansion). I had Longbowmen and Artillery against mainly a force of Galleoglaich/Kerns.....Needless to say, I won.

I just had a pretty big battle in my Vanilla English campaign, against the French. My one stack composed of some cav, 4 mercanary crossbows and a few units of peasants and militia faced two and a half enemy full stacks. The stakes were high: If I won, I would certanly lay siege to Paris and take their capital. If they won, the road to Caen was open...

They had a good mix of units, but I had a high ground and they came one by one. The first stack was mostly spearmen and some cavalry, and a general. They were almost anihilated by the time they came to the top so it was easy. The next one had balistae but I took them out, and the rest was mostly like the first stack, without a general. This one gave me trouble as they rallied three times, somehow, even without a general, but their morale was so low then that my crossbows routed them instantly. Then came the last of the enemy armies, a a half stack in defense of Paris. Mostly town militia and some crossbow militia, but they had a 60 man unit of general bodyguard which had to be taken out... But I managed to surround them and kill them...

In the end, the entire hill was covered in French and English dead. I lost some 500, the enemy lost 2000 along with 1000 captured. Unfortunatly, I wasn't able to chase them all down due to the fact that my cavalry suffered the most, but my crossbows did a lot fo the work for them. I think the best unit had 363 kills! Besides, they had experience from before, killing an entire full stack in front of Rennes pretty much single handedly.

Can't wait to siege Paris tomorrow!

I've never had anymore than 4000 go against each other at one time in Medieval II, that time being when I was the Turks and I was just waiting for the Mongols. Although as many as 6 full stacks would be in the battle, 1-3 would get delayed or simply never show up.

In SS I had a stack of 2000 as Roman Empire, nearly every unit I had considering I was playing in the 1220 Campaign, and was against up to 3000 Rebels from Constantinople and Adrianople. Fortunately, I smashed them and Constantinople was mine.

And on TATW I've massacred endless rows of Orcs sometimes numbering in the 6000s.

Go into the preferences.cfg file and change "Unlimited Men on Battlefield" from FALSE to TRUE and armies won't get delayed anymore. They get delayed because the program figures your computer can't handle the numbers, but it tends to err severely on the side of caution.
