I'm wondering if I am alone.. Would be fun to see what the new world will turn out to be...
So, anyone wants to guess what the consequences would be?

what do you mean by 'collapse'?
specify certain sorts of actions one would expect from a collapse.
btw, i'm reminded of a funny bit from cracked.com where the soviets sent a message to the white house saying 'you're right, comrade, capitalism lasted longer than communism-about 20 yrs longer' lol
Depends what you mean by collapse.
If you mean 1929 style Wall Street Crash, then no – not because I care what happens to Americans - but because there would be knock on consequences for me, and the whole world.
I prefer the scenario where the US dollar ceases to be a reserve currency. (This is already happening.) This removes the capacity for the US to massively borrow to supply cheap debt to people who can’t pay it back. Once the Americans stop doing this my financial world becomes a safer place.
I still feel some lingering concern over who replaces the US as top dog in the world, once the American Economic Empire recedes. I’m hoping for a balance of interdependent, more or less equal, economic powers, with competing self-interests, that balance each other out. That all depends on what happens in China.

What do I gain on it?
of course it would be interesting, but remember if the US economy collapsed, the world economy as a whole would greatly suffer, after all we live in a world with a global economy now.

the USG will use its well funded military before its economy collapses completely
nothing revives the economy like a major war

That's because war has changed. The real profit of the war goes to those private corporations that make, the bullets, bombs, uniforms, who cook the meals, set up bases etc. Not the mention the PMC's who expanded hugely during the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Rather than filtering back in the public purse, the money is transfered to private interests.
Censorship is never over for those who have experienced it. It is a brand on the imagination that affects the individual who has suffered it, forever.

Was the iraq war a major war? No... it didn't have the whole nation turn into a war economy. Little changed in the daily lifes of americans during the war.
I mean, the only possible war that would requir the US to mobilize its economy into full drive would be like a war with all of Eurasia at once. Or a civil war.
If the US collapses then the world economy collapses. I mean a US recession brought the world into a recession. Think of what an American collapse would do. Although the US economy is too big and stable to collapse. Its a safe economy to bet on.

well that remains to be seen; the Great REcession has shaken a lot of countries' faith in the US economy in light of its debt, and other countries are now looking for ways of diversifying away from US Treasuries;
that's why gold and precious metals and oil are so high right now
During the world wars however, the US didn't have a large standing army. So it had a lot of work to do when war time came as it had create all the weapons, machinery, clothes, etc. However in the present day the US has a very large standing army, and I do not believe a major war even at the magnitude that you propose will significantly help the US economy.

plus given that gun ownership is legal in the US-the chances for a revolution are high; that is, unless the bread and circuses dry up.
that means, prepare for American Idol Season 87and JErsey Shore season 56
