failing to install patch

I Cant install any patches for rome total war.when ever i am trying to install it says (no prior installation of rome total war was found.The installation program will now terminate).i have Rome Total War:Gold Edition ver1.3

i could be wrong, but I thought the Gold Edition shipped with v1.5 matey? Tried uninstalling and reinstalling and all that? Maybe you've been sold a lemon if its 1.3?

Contact .www.sega.com/support as they are the official support people for Total War games and the patches. Explain it to them.

I don't own it as I still have the original cds but RTW is supposed to come patched to 1.5 and BI 1.6.
