    Default Man of the hour.

    Hi all,

Could someone please enlighten me how this is triggered? Is there a higher % if you single handed elimnate a foe with your captain against an army or how is this calculated? I just wonder as I'm running low on generals to command my armies.

    Thanks,
    Anders

Expand the kingdom and get clear victories with captains.
Rare case fight a battle in which BOP(Balance of power) ratio is not in your favor and get a heroic victory with your captain.
    Lastly do a search.

When you are being run-out of family members. I once get 2 Man of Hour events, in 2 successive battles with 2 captains. One event succeeded. The other didn't (shows Adoption Not Completed! message). I often get Man of Hour rejected after a counter-sally battle which ensues an auto-settlement occupation.

Getting heroic victories with captains is a really nice way to get fam members, indeed.

But i fear those betraying captains .... so i rarely leave captains taking care of armies. Well thats what happened in Middle Ages. Why people in those times were so treacherous? >.<

Because they did not have the ideals of nationhood to secure their allegiance.

On topic, it seems very easy to trigger man of the hour event, all it takes is having "too few" generals.

Never saw adoptions fail tough ?
The game development business is one of bottomless greed, pitiless cruelty, venal treachery, rampant competition, low politics and boundless personal ambition. New game series are rising, and others are starting their long slide into obscurity and defeat.

I've got it so many times that I suspect a bug. Still it is possible. Btw I get more often Man of the hour event when I auto-resolve.

And k/t, we never say that outloud. Never

I have had a "Man of the Hour" adoption die the same turn.

    Man of the hour indeed.

I get Man of the hour events often when I use my captains to destroy rebels stacks in a distant city far from my frontline. I think there is a better chance of getting the event if you auto-resolve... I also got the event a few times even though the odds were on my side.

Also did experience once when I adopted a general, he proceeds to die on the same turn. Didn't know that was possible, I think it was the plague or an earthquake that killed him.

edit: I always keep the maximum free upkeep of units in my cities, usually spearmen. I tend to go through my militia spears very quickly and sometimes there just not enough to keep up the offensive.

You've never quit your job for a better paying one or left your chick for a better looking one?

It wasn't the plague or an earthquake, the adoption just didn't complete. "All you get is a casket" or something like that.

Yeah, I've gotten that 2-3 times (I don't adopt all that often)
Found it pretty funny the first time.

i always get a man of the hour when i defeat (okay, cheat and auto-resolve) a rebel army. no matter if i had 10000 men and the rebels have 10. no matter what.
