camera in battles under world. crashes

So I own 3 copies of this game. First I tried using DM on the steam version but It didn't work. So i did a clean install from the discs and tried again. same problem. well that's the into let me describe the problem.

Im playing the Britons imperial campaign. everything is fine for the first couple battles. then invariably Ill have a battle where as soon as the map loads the camera goes all wonky and appears to be underneath the world. then the mouse cursor goes all stutter and the game crashes.

If I could figure out a way to keep the camera from going crazy I don't think there would be a problem.

I really got a hankering to play Rome again and on trying the DM mod it looks amazing. Im deep into the campaign already, but as the Britons have managed to avoid war so far. So ive only had a few rebel battles on both campaigns I tried.

Like I said. first battle no problem. second or 3rd and the battle map crashes right after the camera appears to get stuck under the world. once it happens even a reload of a saved will have the same results. I even tried moving the battle locations around by pushing the rebels with a superior force. no dice.

Andy help will be greatly appreciated. Both clean installs

also tried rolling back drivers and changing the camera setting but no dice. There are a couple more camera options i could try but I realy hate anything but unlocked cameras.

well now im on a battle with 2 full armies vs 3 or 4 units and it crashes everytime i start the battle. maybe there is something else going on..

I know TW games hate new drivers going to try and roll back to a very old one

i give up ive tried 3 drivers and tried stock speeds. I tried 3 clean installs and 3 downloads of the mod. i guess it just doesnt work on my system. I may play a campaign with just auto resolves. oh well.

Actualy if anyone could help. I would realy love to play RTW with DM. Tried playing vanilla after about 3 hours of DM, and it realy didnt look appealing campaign wise or graphicaly.. why would briton be on the continent in 250bc? really? thats the rediculousness of vanilla.

I am sorry for not replying here generally, because I do not have time to manage this forum. The only thing that comes in my mind to fix your problem is to install again and be sure to install properly.

You need to install:
8.0 (be careful to browse to the game folder)
8.1 (be careful to browse to the game folder)
the new formations (Choose the correct formations)

I wish I had time to make a new installer which includes all. It is on my list.

I believe this is due to having more than 4 units of Chariots. I had the same problem and I had to go into the ai_formations.txt and remove "briton" from all the formation entries, you could try that
