[Solved]Updating the game: Medieval 2 patch

Howdy ho, folks.


Is it worth downloading that 500MB patch?
If so, does it have to be installed in a specific location in the Medieval 2 directory?

What problems does it solve? Does it add the spice to the game?


I've got a 40GB download limit per month. That's the only reason why I'm making a big fuss about all this.



By the way, either there are no topics dealing with issue or the search engine's messed up. Top results were mostly about the Middle Earth.

Which one?

Yes it's worth it. For example cavalry tends to fail less. Also gunpowder units which have "fire by rank" attribute actually shoots while taking casualties (yet still spents a lot of time on reforming)

I'm sure there is much more reasons to have it. But these are the main ones.

Do I have to download patches 1.1, 1.1 D2D and 1.2 in order for the last one to work?

you need patch 1.2 only and then install 1.3

Okay. I installed 1.2 without any problems and then moved on to 1.3. Everytime this pops up:

Error: invalid or missing target D:Medieval II\packs\data_0.pack
Update cannot be continued.

I can't even open the game now. That 1.2 might've been corrupted, or something. Definitely something.
Any suggestions, please?

Re-installed the game, installed the patches again and everything's fine. M'kay.
