My favourite Japanese Director/Screenwriter of ALL TIME, Kurasawa was an absolute genius, shame he didn't live out his dream of dying on set. He'd still be going to this day if he wanted to.

When I was a kid my parents owned a video store in the 80's and Ran was the first movie we got that was letter boxed as well as subtitled. I remember, we couldn't give the movie away. Everyone who rented it returned it because A. they couldn't read fast enough, and B. Because there were boxes on the screen and they wanted to see the whole movie not a postage stamp. My, times have changed. I didn't understand the problems even then because I loved the movie. Still do.

HUm Kagemusha is quite good but i think Ran is better.
That is a lame question, anyway It is how japanese use their hair in midle ages. Its an èpic movie, After all.can someone explain to me why everyone in this movie has the same hairstlye of bald in the middle and long hair in the back of the head?
If you have it on PC why do you need DVD ?? If you have Blu Ray dics then only with a Blu Ray Driver you can run it. If you have in PC you should be able to wacth. Use Media Player classic Home cinema for it if your windows media player don work. Classic as more codecs etc. You should install ffdshow as well. with that you can read anything. Practicaly. Also Matroska splitter or Haalia media splitter is very usefull for codec Avi ,and to make Subtitles to work.yes i have it on my pc in hd. too bad i cant figure out a way to run it. my dvd dont run hd movies

I think Ran was big but Kagemusha was huge.
Kage is good and Heaven and Earth

pretty sure that was the sytle unlike modern flicks where the actors have big beautiful rock star wigs and clean shaven faces.
You've never seen the shaved tops?
