Re: Four turns per year mod (active seasons)
I haven't herd of more then two seasons in a Medieval II game. Usually its only summer and winter.
Some games like to create fake climates by adding additional ground types to make the climate more uniform and natural on the campaign map (by 'fake' I mean you'll only notice the climate on the campaign map). Any mod can go further to create the non-winter regions to appear as if they are in Autumn, while the winter season in the game is on. (non-winter regions such as Italy, Greece, Africa). So just as an example, Autumn trees on the campaign map when its winter.
As for ho many turns per season. Some mods have 1 turn per year (covers the full 4 seasons), other mods have 2 or 4 turns per year (you usually get summer and winter appearing twice in a row for these turns).
Search for the mods, they are out there (in this forum I mean).

you've mods from 1 to 12 turns per year, with correct character aging, seasons and even randomized seasons and their ''agressiveness''
