I've just opened up my complete Islamic conversion kit from Ebay

I thought it was going to just be the Quran but there's a heap of pamphlets, booklets and DVD to go with it. I can actually see the appeal because to me this seems like proper religion for real men unlike my wishy washy New Age beliefs. And I think it's creditable that you have to do all the hard work yourself seeing as there isn't a saviour to hold your hand and do it all for you. It seems to frequently bash atheists with promises of hellfire which is a surprise as I didn't realise there were that many around back then to be noticed, but it's otherwise it seems fairly tolerant of other beliefs which is another plus point for it, and it seems fairly pro-science as well. It does seem like they have got a hold of death and they're trying to rub him in my face, I'll have to knock off a point for that. And I can't help thinking that they have nicked other peoples religious stories, why not come up with something fully original? But this will take pride of place my "Abramic religions" bookshelf section.

And it goes on much like that throughout. But if you want to be completely critical in your thinking you have to read all this stuff first.

Sloppy translation on their part. Flat-out atheism hardly existed, but I think they might refer to "godlessness", what they understood as pre-Islamic Arabian paganism.
