Problem installing Napoleon Imperial Edition!!!

K, I had earlier bought and installed napoleon retail, I finally decided to buy game of the year version (which includes imperial version of NTW) so that I could get all the DLCs at a discount.

Anyhow. It seems that my Peninsular Campaign and Coalition battles successfully installed but I can't gain access to the Imperial Edition extra units, even though I payed for the imperial edition in the game of the year version.

I can't seem to be able to un-install my retail version and install imperial instead?

You have make a new account for your new game. It won't let you use the same account for both. There is a thread here or in Empire Tech on it.

If you've got the Imperial Edition, you'll have the 'Heroes of the Napoleonic Wars' Units, but I guess you won't have the Peninsular Campaign dlc as that came out afterwards. Could be a case of having to pay to get that campaign on the Imperial Edition. Grim eh? Confusing and irritating too all this stuff.

hmm I bought the game of the year package of Empire and Napoleon, it says in the offer that Imperial Edition is included in the offer, and in the Imperial Edition there's the extra units?

You can't buy those Imperial Edition DLC separately like you said, no such thing as heroes of Napoleonic Wars exists in steam store (believe me, I checked). BS on Steam's part I think

LOL I can't believe this but it seems that I got this solved through a friend on a steam conversation.

Apparently my retail version of NTW was indeed already the imperial edition version of NTW. So after browsing through my NTW manual I noticed I had unused activation codes for 5 elite regiments AND the 10 extra units that you get from imperial edition.

All this time I had unused activation codes gathering the dust in my napoleon box, I didn't even realize this until now.
