I use Old Skool insead of Geomod because it and computer don't get along.
Bad saves a bane of Total War games unless you have massive amounts of defragged free harddisc space. I don't have a bad save unless I just edited something and 99% are not savegame compatible but I also have 300gb of free harddisc space.
Set you log to trace and fix every error in it before moving on. I am still chasing ctds without errors showing up in the log. It's part of modding.
The biggest clue is if you can replicate the ctd and it and the log ends on the same line numbers in both, you have a chance to find it.

i usually have no ctd. I only have black screens. I don't know if it is a different.

Black screen to is hardware.

Dxdiag tells what hardware you have waht drivers for them you have.
