Corruption and Others

MY EMPIRE IS ON THE MIDDLE, THE RED BYZANTINE.

I'm playing the Roman Empire (changed the color to RED from PURPLE), and my gold/florins/stall is SCREWED! 12k is all what remains from a 120k money. I've noticed something on the bottom of the Faction scroll list, the info for the economy. There's a whooping 41,371 Expenditure! Where'd all the money go!? I have 62,774 expenditure for the army, and I'm happy with it, because I have almost 10 stacks of Skoutatoi Spearmen and byzzie light cavalry (can't remember the unit in blue uniform). I KNOW corruption is the main source for this, but, really.... 41k florins only for corruption!?

Any tips guys? Any ideas?

Andronicus,

You have a widespread empire, I take it your capital is Constantinople, which is not in the centre of your empire, so your outlying territories will have more corruption. Any settlement that does not have a General, will also have higher corruption, so get a General in there. Also make sure in your cities you build Law Buildings, Town Hall, Councillors Chambers, etc

From this point of view, Constantinople still looks like the centre of his empire, so he needs a lot of town halls to reduce the corruption.

Build any buildings that increase law.
Send high-law generals to the settlements with the most corruption.

never seen that much corruption except at the us elections!

(thx god mid-term is over)
