    Default Overture

To some it may seem childish, but a month ago I wrote an overture. I finished the initial piece. It runs around 1:00-2:00 in time. I want to show you all to see if it's actually worth continuing...

That's pretty neat, reminds me of an old Final Fantasy.

wow. thats really good. A little repetitive on the drums, but that is a excellent piece of work in my opinion.

As Deku said, reminds of one of those 1996-2000 fantasy games.

I think you should finish it.

Pretty simple, very old Zelda, Final Fantasy-ish.

Until you've arranged a piano LOTR piece for a full orchestra, there is no difficult. *snobface*

Good work on the overture! Now you've got me addicted to this and I'm writing my own stuff!

One comment I have is with the melody the clarinet plays. I think it would sound more fitting if the fourth note of it, I believe it is a G in a half-note, is changed to a D (down on the cleft).

In the 6th bar. Meh, this'll be easier...

    Change it from this:

    to this:

Not that the note you chose doesn't fit but I think it'd be better to use the original note you chose later in the same melody to add variation. Since the note you chose is higher in pitch it creates a sort of uplifting feeling. If you change the note to what I've said, if I have it correct, then it will still sound good but will create a feeling of anticipation for the note you chose.

    Make sense?

    Moved to The Arts.
"Muscovy", as its rulers have previously called it, is a sleeping giant, with age-old traditions and ways of doing things. Here, the feudal way of life has become so entrenched that the serfs are as tied to the land as cattle, and with almost as few rights. It is a vast, deeply conservative and religious country: Mother Russia and the Orthodox Church are the two pillars of national belief. The Tsar may be the father of his people, but by tradition and practice he is a stern parent. Ivan the Terrible was well named, and he has not been the only ruler with an iron will. Russia is the "Third Rome". The last bastion of Orthodox Christianity.
