    Default Pillaging Cities, worth it?

    Hi,

right now I'm playing hotseat (SS 6.3) with a friend of mine on the same computer and it's terrific =D

But we noticed that pillaging cities isn't really worth it with BGR. Usually I never pillage because it does not give chiv/dread. But in the current campaign I'm playing with Norway (first time) and I want to do daring raids in the coastal regions. Unfortunately the amount of money one got through pillage is not even enough to support a quater of the armie's cost I used to pillage it =/

The amount of money one gets through pillage might be enough for vanillia MTW, but with BGR it's just not enough to make it a option worth considering.

Is it possible to change the amount one get through pillage? And if it is possible, does it break save games?

Thanks a lot for the great mod!

Well... siege and defeat the defenders sally should let you win with smaller army or you could simply let an army captain lead the pillaging and move in your general after to keep his name clear and less of the loot in his own private coffers. That is the easiest...

If you are saying something in BGR script gives less loot money directly that is something new I haven't heard. Usually if a general sacks with BGR the money goes into treasury but then next turn the general claims his portion back and the treasury doesn't make as much money- however it still makes something.

It doesn't give less loot money afaik, but I suppose it makes it less profitable as other costs are higher. If you want it to go to the faction rather than the individual general then use a war council general who is already rich.

Why not just use small/cheap opportunistic raiding forces that give you a profit overall. Other than that maybe you will have to properly pillage by ransacking the buidings too.

Yes, I meant that it is less profitable because of general upkeep costs =) [which in itself is a good thing]

I didn't know that the money I pillage is going to the general. Thanks for the information. I think I will try it again and ransacking the buidings too.

So I suppose there is no easy way to generally increase the amount (percentage) of money one get through pillaging cities?

I'm afraid not, no. Most likely it's hard-coded.

For Hell had been annexed of late,
And was a sovereign Southern State.

If by pillaging you mean using the "sack" option after conquering a settlement, than you have to wait for the settlement to grow, and then pillage it.
