What do you mean by many? It is only the diffuse.dds that includes Napoleon's epaulettes.

The LME uniforms diffuse.dds files are DXT1 (non-transparent) compressed to save Mbytes. It would be good to know if I should revert back to DXT5?

    Cheers :-)

Per my post above "its the same on all LME units", not just Napoleon.

.dds saved as DTX1? Yes, that'll be it, I think... diffuse need to be DTX5, as do the .normal files. Only the gloss files are a safe DTX1. Good graphics mean bigger files. Perhaps you can offer 2 standards for those who want smaller files?

Thanks for the feedback regarding diffuse.dds :-)

I will revert back to DTX5 with LME3, I don't want these graphical artifacts although this mod ends up being almost 2Gbytes in size ;-)

OK. Do you have an ETA for 3.0?

Hopefully March 2012 or maybe April 2012, dependent on available time to do the modding work

Very good. I continue to use LME (suffering those nasty graphics lol) and find that LME, with the NTW3 Barebones, is absolutely the best battle gameplay. No question. Now, if you can get Darth's amazing smoke effects and the sounds from NTW3 you have here the hands-down best mod out there. That's what I have. And it's the dog's bollocks.

    Just my 2 cents...

Thanks for the positive feedback and note regarding smoke and sound effects.

LME3 includes a game/mod .net launcher (90% complete) that facilitates automatic user.script generating based on activated submods. So any ideas for popular submods to be included with LME3 is welcomed.

Don't know if this has already been included... I don't have the current LME version because I'm waiting on the new one. Just wanted to know if you plan or maybe you already have included Polish Legions for the French army (infantry, cavalry...) and if these are historically well researched. They should be available FROM THE BEGINNING (important!) and recruitable from Paris and Northern Italy (say Torino). Has this perhaps been addressed or is this something for the new version?

As for the rest, is there a good AOR system in this mod?

There are Polish Legion units available, but in what timeframe do you mean available in Turin?

There is an extensive AoR included in the mod but I'm too biased to tell you how good it is ;-)

Polish Legions were recruited in Northern Italy in 1797 by General Jan Henryk Dabrowski. Recruitment places: Milan, Brescia, Cremona and Mantua, but also in Southern Italy. In the game this is not possible because these regions don't exist in the game. So I guess you could make Polish Legions available in Torino. Milan is a protectorate/ally.

Initially there were about 8 000 Polish soldiers, but this number rose soon to 35 000. Almost everything about them was Polish. Commanding language, uniforms (approximately), ranks, unit names, everything was Polish. They only wore the tricolor French cocarde. I could give you the battles they fought in, but to what purpose? Polish Legions were also created in Paris and some places in Southern France (maybe Toulouse). I had a map of this but I can't find it. Many of the soldiers were refugees who fled Poland to Italy or France because Poland was partitioned by its neighbours (Russia, Austria and Prussia) and did therefore not exist for some while on the map. This also meant Poles were forced to fight in Russian, Austrian and Prussian armies. They joined the Polish Legions in Italy and France and fought for Napoleon, thinking that was the best possibility/way to regain independence for Poland, to fight for Poland against Polish enemies (Prussia, Austria and Russia).

In 1799 Polish Legions (the Danube Legion in particular) was created in the Netherlands. You can look it up if you feel the necessity .

Just look up Polish Legions, even on Wikipedia. The information is quite accurate. The details perhaps are not, but the overall general information is.

So, 35 000 he? . So not including Polish Legions in Italy or France is therefore a huge mistake in the mod, given the importance of Polish soldiers in Napoleonic Wars. I also find it so strange that some people forget about the Poles fighting for Napoleon. Then they claim that their mod is so historical. Don't mean to offend or annoy anyone, but Polish Legions available for France from the beginning is a must, a very important one. So doing so much research about everything, but forgetting about such an important thing is strange to me.

Hope you do it right, so I can play the mod and praise you for your work.

Thank you so much, Lutland! I have been looking and looking for a long time for a good mod for NTW. I know there a quite a lot of very good mods, but most of them forget about the Polish Legions. Some may think "who cares, it's a great mod", but there's something about these good mods that puts me off. You can imagine of course that the lack of Polish units puts me off, as they were so so so important. Polish soldiers were the second largest group of soldiers in the Napoleon's armies, after the French of course. Most of the NTW mods, with the exception of one, overlooked this big 'detail'.

I'm looking forward to the new version or unit pack you will be releasing.

    Thanks again!

There seems to be something wrong in terms of economy, for there is always one or several major nations (france/russia/england/etc) who ends in perpetual bankruptcy before a year of game time has passed

iv tried several campaigns to confirm this

    any one else experience this?

I have my script all set (e.g. I don't want the music mod) but to get it to work I have to load the game directly, not from the LME icon and laiuncher screen. Also, the button text on the loancher screen does not seem to work - does not llook like your illustration and is too big for the buttons. Just "teething troubles" I am sure... and probably user (me) error somewhere, too, LOL.
    Thank you Pdguru :-)

It seems that there are problems with Napoleon's battles, however I didn't change anything in LME3 so it puzzles me ;-)

The launcher text looks different on WinXP and maybe also Vista, I use Win7.

One thing that really gets me about LME is the subtle details that were put into it. The combination of the music, the loading screens, the character portraits... it is all really immersive, and I definitely like what you did with many of these minor details. The attention that you paid to the minor factions as well, especially when it comes to adding units, descriptions, etc. is very impressive. Overall, I am quite blown away by how awesome this mod is.

There are a few suggestions that I have. For one, I liked the old style of campaign map more than the borderless style. I'm not really a fan of the lack of borders, nor do I really like how the background of the campaign minimap is... colorful. Therefore, my suggestion would be (if possible) to make it so that the player can toggle (in the launcher, or via a submod or something) between the new, borderless map with a colorful background and the old map with borders and the dull background.
Thank you Lanier, I appreciate your feedback :-)

There is a Vanilla minimap installer avaliable in the download and installation thread, so you can revert back to vanilla!

    Cheers

    iutland,

    1. I am trying the wolves submod to larger units and the unit cards remain full size. So I have aded the Alb mod which shrinks the cards (but makes them a bit too small!) so you can see all the units. Is that correct or should LME be resizing the cards?
    2. 1815 campaign crashes after a few moves. I remember this was a mystery problem in LME 2 so is this the same issue?
