    Default Thoughts on artillery

Do you plan to have field guns in the mod? They could have a lower trajectory than the normal guns that you have in the mod, and could also be moved around (albeit slowly). The normal guns that you have in the mod could be renamed to howitzers. On the subject of moving artillery around, you could have heavy guns and howitzers (like the British 6 Inch Mk XIX gun and 8 Inch howitzer) that can't be moved but have the advantage of fire power and range. Then you could have light(er) guns and howitzers (like the British 18 Pounder gun and 4.5 Inch howitzer) that could be moved around, but have less range and firepower.

Also, are you planning on making mortars able to be moved around? This would be more like actual mortars, as the mortars in game aren't great at attacking enemy positions due to their short range.

Also, the subject of moving artillery around brings me to my next subject. Do you plan to have horse artillery in the mod? Britain used horse artillery in WWI, and I'm certain other nations did as well.

We have many interesting developments for artillery in the next update.

It will be best to assess the situation as of then.

When you say next update, you do mean 4.5 right? If so then

Will men flying be changed? Ehem, what I mean is, when artillery explosions blow men away, they seem to blow them ridiculously far away. Is it possible to change them so they just go a bit high in the air, but no ridiculously high? Maybe even make them spin around in the air like a corpse like in the films (don't know if it's realistic or not though)? Reason I'm asking is because I've never seen this talked about.
New website for AtC (Advance to Combat, formerly known as Nations at War) Check it out here! We average 155 unique hits a day! AtC is a mod for Empire Total War focusing on implementing modern-day units into custom battles.

I don't know of any really interesting developments in artillery for 4.5, so I'd have to assume interesting developments for 5.0 that are going on now.
Also, I was thinking of a differentiation between field artillery and howitzers, similar to what you say.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the more powerful/large the explosion, the further men fly. So either we have weak artillery or people flying around, and I'd rather have people flying around Its really a vanilla issue.

I presume that when you meant the next update you meant 5.0? Seeing as the only new arty unit in 4.5 was the railway gun observers (don't get me wrong, they are AWESOME) and the new effects.

Well, from a gameplay perspective (aka models aside ), artillery will be getting some rather large changes. We shall divulge more on this later, but for now, let it suffice to say that all suggestions of yours in the OP have been taken care of, except for the mortars, which AFAIK is impossible

I think mortars should be removed temporarily, until if they can possible figure out a way to make it a highly mobile unit, in which you can "limber" and "unlimber". Mortars were small, not the big ones in the game, but im sure the developers know this already. Mortars were often attached to a battalion (later in the war).

IMO Art is a bit overpowered, its nice to be using it, but it really makes infantry useless.
Are you planning to have Artillery Trenches too?
But on to what i was saying, Art is really OverPowered, i mean, The Canister shot is what makes it Overpowered, it is such a long range and just tears through infantry like tissue. TISSUE!!!
