    Default Catholism

Does anyone else have the problem that, if you have a tier-3 or above class church your agents influence start to suffer? Like in London I have a huge catherdral and my merchants HQ and everytime i recruit a merchant het eitehr has the quite religious trait or the dogmatically religious. Those trait take 1-2 influence respectively from my merchants influence. I've also seen this happen to my diplomats.
so then I decided with all the risks attached to destroy the Catherdral, because it was really annoying.
and save on hugh catherdral for my city with the theologians HQ.

so the real question does anyone else have this problem?

Yes. Don't train merchants in towns with more than an Abbey. Don't train diplomats in regions high in your own faith.

In the guide for merchants it's indeed said that a settlement with a high level religious building can get your merchant that trait. just like when you train your merchant in a settlement without town hall, he can get a bad trait

Indeed. Its better to pick the citys that you want to specialize very early. Eg: as England I like Caen to have a Woodsman guild, so I train most of my longbowman there since teh start of the game.
