About to give up!!!

For four days have tried to get this to work. I really love RSI and am looking forward to RSII (especially as I am reading Julius C's The Conquest of Gaul). So I DL'd and installed but got the "javelin elephant" error (fixed). Then I got the Error 12 (fixed). Now nothing happens when I hit "Play...." and then "Have you selected...." I get the Roma Surrectum II splash screen but then nothing. Goes back to my desktop? I dont see that anyone has had this issue on the forum. Anyone have any advice?

Is RTW patched fully before install and what is the folder Docs in your RTW folder for?

I have Docs in my RS2 folder. However, where exactly did you install this and how? You have RS1.6 installed still? if so, what did you do to install RS2

Man, dump that crappy Vista...when I started modding Diadochi TW I got asburd CTDs every time I changed even the tiniest thing, then I got rid of that awful OS, got Seven, and now I mod and play without troubles.

I dont see the preferences folder, Not sure if that matters - its created after you run the game the first time AFAIK.

Try to run it manually, double click that RS2_RTW.BAT file.

Yep, its fully patched up to 1.6. I have installed inside and outside of the Program Files fodler and get the same thing. I always ran vanilla Rome: BI before installing RSII but maybe I forgot this time. I'll try your suggestion Capital.

Have you edited anything in your original RTW folder?

nope, i have not edited anything in the original folder. went straight from updating it to 1.6 to installing RS II. Did another clean install (outside of the programs files folder) and I am getting the elephant javelin error again even though i installed RS in another folder and dragged in to the Rome folder. really wanted o play this mod. guess I'll stick with RS I.

i have exactly the same problem. i have installed everything in order fresh on my hard drive and simply cant play this game. im confused why they felt the need for a launcher. everyone knows how to edit "descr_ " anyway.
