Has anybody found out how to slow down animations? I don't know anything about animations really. Especially I'm searching for a way to make individual soldiers turn/pivot slowlier so that they need more time when they change formation (e.g. when you order a unit to form square or when you increase/decrease a units' depth/frontage) or have to circumvent obstacles like trees, but not when they advance straight ahead.
What I've tried so far (example):
In animations/men/musket/mus_stand_irregular/ I have opened the .txt file of one of the "turning" animations. In any animation-txt-file, I find something like the following (my values):
Marker name: Footstep_Turn
Position: 2 s 958 ms
Type: Generic
Marker name: Footstep_walk
Position: 11 s 782 ms
Type: Generic
I tried to set the values (seconds and milliseconds?) high. I hoped that the animation would need 11,7 seconds in total (- the blend_in_time of the following animation?). I applied that to all turning-animations (irregular and trained), but there is no effect in the game. The individual soldiers still turn very fast and have no problem to manoeuver around like robots. Can anyone give me a hint?
(When I try to set alter the type of the pack-file to movie, the game won't load properly and freezes at the first loading screen.)
PS: Oh, and I've also read something about "animation delay" in some posts. Does anyone know what this is/how it can be done? I guess it's supposed to influence the time between animations (e.g. can I have soldiers to attack less frequently in combat?)
There is not much you can learn about animations in this board really. Here is a list of my favourites:
