Vassal breaks alliance?

I played as Isengard and offered Rohan to become my vassal. They accepted but a few rounds later when I wanted to exchange map information with them they just broke the alliance. But isn't that supposed to be impossible?

Why would it be impossible? You beat them into the ground and forced them to do your bidding, if anything you should expect them to rebel after recovering.

I thought it's impossible to break the alliance with a vassal, except with evil factions cause the invasions

"Vassal" probably wasn't the best term they could have chosen for it but ah well. And nope, it's not impossible to break a vassalage. I've never seen one last for any lengthy amount of time.

consider them rebelling to your divine might.

If you place some troops in their regions, they will be less likely to stand up against you.

I offered to be Arnor's Protectorate as Gondor, after they were getting crushed by OOG, after about 50 turns they broke it off and now we are allies.....

Somewhere I read that the vassal couldn't break up. Otherwise there wouldn't be any difference to an alliance. Whatever meanwhile I have slaughtered half of their cities. I tried the kindly way but they wouldn't obey. Now they know who has the balls in Middle Earth.

There is a difference, I believe a portion of your income is sent directly to the person who vassaled you, not to mention forcing military access on you.

Sucks to be a vassal, i also find they usually dont last very long. I'll try keeping small armies in there regions to see if that works or spys

Maybe it was possible cause they were quite strong at that time, 4 regions and over 4 full stacks. Actually I was surprised when they accepted.

Don,t believe everything you see in the films. Uruks got balls alright. Not that I know from personal experience you understand, but you do hear rumours. Apparently wedgies work a treat on uruks
