Default Downloading 3.3 patch from Filefront

    Hi everyone,

I've managed to install the 3.0 version of the mod (downloaded from Megaupload), which functions fine, but for some reason the Filefront download of the 3.3 patch won't work. I click download, and it tells me the file type can't be found, and asks if I'd like to find a program to open it with, or save it. I ask it to find a program, it can't, and doesn't recognise it as a file type. I save it, download it, try to open the single link it gives me and can't because it's saved as a file type that doesn't exist. It tells me it's a 3[1]. file, which I've never heard of. I always have this problem with Filefront, and have to use another mirror, but seeing as there aren't any for the 3.3 version of Chivalry II, I thought I'd ask on here to see if I'm doing anything wrong.

Thank you in advance for any help,

    Screaming Eagle

Thanks a lot, Primative, that seems to have worked fine. Is there another mirror for the hotfix, too? I'm having the same problem with the Filefront link to that.

Thanks again, that link worked too. Now I'm playing 3.3, however, the launcher doesn't function as well as it did with 3.0. I tested 3.0 to see if it installed okay, I typed 'H' on the launcher and then chose the High Era custom campaign. I chose England, and it loaded at 1212, with King John as my monarch and all the units and faction names/colours seemed to be fine. However, with 3.3, I type 'H', select the High Era custom campaign and as England my faction colour is grey and yellow, my king is Cynge John and a number of units have Anglo-Saxon names. What am I doing wrong?

It sounds like you you loaded the Dark Age given the faction colours and 'Cynge'.

I just started a High Era campaign to check and mine was fine, Red faction colour and 'King' John, so I dont think its the launcher.

Only things I can suggest are that you make sure you followed the installation instructions exactly and that you did indeed chose 'H' and load the correct era from the custom campaign menu.

Failing that you'll have to wait until somebody more knowledgable than me comes along to help. Sorry.

That's what it looks like it's doing to me, too, and I can't figure out why. I'm definitely choosing "H" and picking the High Era custom campaign, but still with a Dark Age map. It's really strange

After you chose 'H' and pressed 'Enter' did it load a list of files before launching the game?

Try loading a different era, 'E' for Early camp. for instance and see if that looks right. Then quit and try loading the High era again. Look out for the list of files that run in the launcher.

I've sorted it, I'd forgotten to run it as an administrator so access to the files was denied. Thanks so much for all your help, Primative

I have XP not Vista so didn't think of that.

Glad you got it sorted, have fun.
