How Can You Defeat Artillery Spamming?

Why does it seem every other battle i join is like this... How can I defeat these people?

All i can say is stretch your lines as thinly as possible and try and take the arty out with any means necessary. But the best tactic is to stretch your lines the thinner the better unlike a milk shake where the thicker the better thicker your lines are you are going to lose.

You just go there and kill them.

You should just stick to playing on the defending side on the map Austrian Pinnacles and camping with 4 unicorns.

ok, this is a 2vs2 prussian hills map, all 3 of them camp with rockets, howitzers, cannons, in big squares.i dont, and though its a slow battle, by the end the battle is pretty decisive.

dont know if in the video its acualy u getting shot by the howies but generaly in the vid the prussian guy had his men painfully packed up siriously it wasnt just units in 5-7 rank deep formatoins i think the units were overlapping aswell.attacking in 1-2 rank deep formations will assure that even if u get 10 howies firing at u by the time u get to ur enemy u wont loose more than 200 men what i dont get in the vid also is where is the prussian cav? 3 lancers would be enought simply engage his lines and mass cav in as simple as that.or move the cav around the top of the map that would take care of the situation aswell especialy because i dont think the howies can accualy fire at units behind them.

if your line is spread out as far as possible, i havent seen more than 10 kills per howitzer shell.and that was probably flukey from my opponent.rockets annoy the out of your cav..

Whatever you do, DON'T do what the idiot in the video did. God, it's common sense. Massing your army into a giant blob running into artillery fire is not the way to go. The spammer is obviously at a large disadvantage once the engagement starts, he only has the advantage when you advance towards him. Once you are within musket range, he's screwed due to his lack of infantry.

Spread your lines thin and haul ass. Envelop him, other people have summed it up in this thread. The thinner the lines, the less casualties you take.

Spread out, Rush forward, engage in battle against unit handicapped enemy (due to art spam), use cav to take out art while engaging army, win the battle.

you should try getting in thicker columns and line your men up, thats what Napoleon would do.

What I saw in the first video is actually easy to beat. Only because of the excessive amount of arty used by both of them. However the reason the attacking team lost is the same reason I see many teams lose, they play 1vs1 + 1vs1 rather than 2vs2.

Whenever you see an opposing team member in a 2vs2 or more bring 4 or more foot cannons/howitzers, focus your attack on his team mate. Leave half your army stretched to pin down the guy infront of you, and send the rest of your army to assist your team mate. The guy infront of you is stuck. He can't send units to help because he needs them to defend his artillery. Once you picked off his team mate, the game is pretty much over.

Play only games with X artillery max and don't play maps like Austerlitz or Waterloo.

have you guys ever tried beating MG clan when they camp on Provence with the ottoman special guns and stakes all around their hilltop? thats fun.

He means the Organ Gun...nearly every faction has mortars.

Ty carswell. I guess you have seen them play? We beat them a few times but every match on provence with artillery would take a couple of hours. The ones with our rules only took about 20 minutes as we would just dominate them.

I haven't seen them play... but playing Provence at all is just wrong...
