    Default Grand Campaign

I have been playing a Bulgar Darkage campaign, and it got me thinking about having the grand campaign start with the Darkage in 888 AD.

I would have to make a couple faction changes, so the era switch smoothly. The Latins would need to be converted to Bohemia of course, and Spain (Asturias) & Portugal (Navarra) would need to be swapped. This way they would be in a more or less historical place when the era switches and they are renamed.

    Any thoughts?

Chivalry II TW : The Sicilian Vespers - The Multi-Era Mod Project (MIITW/Kingdoms)
Chivalry I TW - The Original Medieval Total Conversion Mod (BI 1.6 Or RTW 1.5)

Personally, I am looking forward to playing DA, but to me two great features make Chivarly unique among M2TW mods:
    • feudalization model
    • the perfect model of Crusader state establishment
The former applies well to DA, but is best referred to the XI-XII century time frame; the latter is obviously an EE feature.

So I would set EE as the base campaign. Additionally, design-wise it is stabler than DA.

But DA would be fine with me (I love the IX century scenario).

On the other hand, do we need all three other campaigns ? You could merge H and L into one, or drop H altogether, otherwise Chivalry 4 testing will take ages

As to Renaissance, I have been playing M2TW for a few years now and the only fire arms I happened to see are some early bombards in LE - while I am not interested, I see R can count many fans, so I guess it is here to stay ...

    This idea sounds good!

I support it but I think to make this is a bit difficult isn't it? I mean for example some nations in the time of DA were pagans but later on they baptized (Hungarians, Scandinavian nations foe example). The weapons, the style of the warfare were also changing under these centuries and there were kingdoms, duchys or principalities which existed or didn't exist in the 9th century but later on they were destroyed, conquered or established new states.

To creating mods is not my cup of tea so these things may not so difficult for you but for me
Good luck to making your concerns we support for you

Yep, lots of things to fix (and test !). Putting everything together is probably not worth the effort.

SV, you may want to consider the opposite scheme:
    • EE grand campaign, 1080AD to the black death - some 550 turns: quite serious a game to me !
    • DA custom campaign, 888AD to the Crusades - 400 turns or so
    • Late campaign, 1350AD to whatever date makes sense, some 400 turns
These should be kept separate, to be individually tuned at a reasonable cost.

They should even be separately released. I mean you could release the grand campaign first and release the add-on "custom" campaigns later, taking all the necessary time.

Such gradual scheme should be less stressing to you and most enjoyable to us.

I think I am going to use EE for the grand campaign. I think I have enough to release. Naybe just a few more campaign fixes. The rest can be handled in follow on releases.

I just need to make sure all the loose ends are tied up.

    Fantastic
EDIT: PS Any thoughts plans for the first Crusade, its ok if you play a Franks or Normans, but you carnt rely on AI to undertake it, so I guess what I am asking is anyway to force AI ;Franks, Normans, and East Franks etc to go on it?
